We used to have a neat demo at work that had a remote controlled 'race car' about a foot long that you could steer along a hallway etc. The thing was that it did this while balancing a baseball bat vertically on its hood. It only took some IBM (...) (25 years ago, 6-Jan-00, to lugnet.robotics)
