...that Y2K should've been in the Vancouver group sorry. Ob Lego: Received my S@H order I place on Friday. Incredibly fast and they had everything in stock including the Black Roof Bricks. Oddly, they also included the "Classic Favourites!" catalog. (...) (25 years ago, 23-Dec-99, to lugnet.loc.ca)

  Y2K Sets @ TRU (Broadway)

Just came back, saw a bunch of the new castle sets including the big castle ($120) and the Technic Battle Droid ($45) looks tres nice, but I'll wait for a sale. They also had quite a bit of the Artic sets and a few town/construction(?) sets (...) (25 years ago, 23-Dec-99, to lugnet.loc.ca)

Re: Mindstorms spirit.ocx programming = RCX ASM coding?

(...) Not at all. I doubt that LEGO would depart too far from their opcode protocols when writing their SDK, especially as it's designed for advanced users, and the syntax of the language seems to mirror assembly.   Re: RCX onboard timer and motor pulsing

(...) The timers run at 1/10 sec, but granularity for "waiting" a task is 1/100 sec. The PWM used for motor output has granularity of 1/1000 sec. Dave Baum p.s. I hope it wasn't my book that stated 1/10 and 1/1000 - if so could you e-mail me the (...) (25 years ago, 23-Dec-99, to lugnet.robotics.rcx, lugnet.trains)

Re: Mindstorms spirit.ocx programming = RCX ASM coding?

(...) Correct. IMHO, calling this "programming the RCX in VB" is very misleading. None of the familiar VB features (variables, control structures, etc) will run on the RCX. For example, in order to construct an "if" statment, you don't use the VB (...) (25 years ago, 23-Dec-99, to lugnet.robotics)
