Old pinball machines do indeed use a pendulum and ring arrangement to detect tilt. (They also have a ball on a track that rolls toward the back if the front of the machine is lifted up.) The only trick with constructing such with MindStorms (this is (...) (26 years ago, 1-Dec-99, to lugnet.robotics)
