Re: Why Did Lego Switch to 9V?

Why Did Lego Switch to 9V?

Ok Peoples, This is one question that i've never really seen addressed anywhere. We all know lego swtiched from 12V to 9V in the early 90's..but why? If using the rails to conduct energy is the reason, they could've stuck to using 12V on rails. Was (...) (25 years ago, 13-Nov-99, to lugnet.trains)

Re: Has anyone ever been missing a piece?

On Sun, 14 Nov 1999, Paul Davidson (<FL6EL3.JuE@lugnet.com>) wrote at 07:07:27 (...) Yup. The unthinkable happened to me just recently. It was a white 2x1x1/3 grill from a 4561. On phoning LEGO consumer services, the part was sent immediately. (25 years ago, 14-Nov-99, to lugnet.general)

Re: Ever been missing a piece? Nope!

Paul Davidson wrote (...) Never. Not once in over 500 sets over twenty years. That is very impressive quality control. Wouldn't mind that level of attention to detail in some of the businesses I work with :-) Richard Still baldly going... Check out (...) (25 years ago, 14-Nov-99, to lugnet.general)

FS: Two 1989/1994 McDonalds promo sets

I just picked up two of the 1989 US / 1994 UK McDonalds Promo sets (1646 - Land Laser and 1649 - Sea Skimmer) without instructions. They are complete and in very good condition, and based on where I found them, I am pretty sure they are the orginal (...) (25 years ago, 14-Nov-99, to lugnet.market.buy-sell-trade)

  Re: Custom Palpatine

(...) Interesting thought, to use the mummy. IIRC, Palpatine was created by taking the Biker Scout head, a black hood, yellow hands, and Darth Maul's body/cape. It looked pretty good, and approximated well the Palpatine we see in the Ep I TLG SW (...) (25 years ago, 14-Nov-99, to lugnet.starwars)

Re: !!! Laser attachments for Mindstorms !!!

I've found that shooting a laser pointer at a bicycle reflector gives a good enough return (to a light sensor right next to the laser source) to be detected. You can use this for navigation, as the RCX can turn around and find strategically mounted (...) (25 years ago, 14-Nov-99, to lugnet.robotics)
