  Re: Another AT-AT site

Shaun, First, I want to applaud your obvious dedication. Your AT AT is even better than I had hoped for, and I'm not saying that lightly. You obviously have the knack for capturing the "soul" of the Starwars Vehicles in Lego. It goes without saying (...) (27 years ago, 25-Oct-99, to lugnet.starwars)

  Re: MOTOR DRIVERS

(...) Hi Paul, I don't know how the handyboard is protected against overload but one thing is for sure : if you overload the driver chip ... this one will fry up.In worst case you'll fry the board as well. If a driver chip's maximum current is 1 (...) (27 years ago, 25-Oct-99, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

Re: Reigonal User Group building centers

(...) See, we don't have that much to contribute. Maybe $20 quarterly or something. And I don't think that all 32 members are likely to even participate. Which doesn't make quite as an exciting curve, but could probably still be helpful. (...) Yeah, (...) (27 years ago, 25-Oct-99, to lugnet.org)

  Re: MOTOR DRIVERS

It won't necessarily fry the chip. L293s (and the TI equivalent) have a thermal protection mode. If the chip gets too hot, it will turn itself off. Most of the time, this protects the chip against over-current. However, it is still possible to fry (...) (27 years ago, 25-Oct-99, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

(...) I'm interested in a couple more of these, and would offer you $60 each for them to be shipped to me, you get to keep whatever the difference between that and the actual cost with shipping. (27 years ago, 25-Oct-99, to lugnet.market.shopping)

(...) NO! (...) Like any club, members could have guests but you would be strongly encouraged to join. Plus if you wanted to go by yourself you would need a membership. (...) People will always have personal property, and I'm not sure anyone would (...) (27 years ago, 25-Oct-99, to lugnet.org)

Re: NELUG - Some things we learned while presenting at Mindfest

(...) Yes, amusing. But really, part of the problem was that we didn't want to scare people off -- that's why Eric didn't want to have signs at first. I guess we underestimated the lack of respect people would have. (27 years ago, 25-Oct-99, to lugnet.org.us, lugnet.loc.us.ma.bos, lugnet.general)

Re: A change in attitude: was Big Brother is Watching (and reading, too!)

(...) I don't know if they'd like that. Standard corporate behavior is to be very wary of stuff that is offered for free. What if they start to sell a pack based on your part list, and then you sue them, claiming that they "stole your idea for a (...) (27 years ago, 25-Oct-99, to lugnet.general)
