  Re: BrickOS Patches and Development

(...) I have found the following related to the removal of h8300-*-hms from binutils: 1) (3 URLs) current Debian version of binutils-h8300-hms is 2.16.1-8 - (URL) the package page ( (URL) ), there is a downloadable *.diff.gz file. That diff file, (...) (16 years ago, 5-Apr-09, to lugnet.robotics.rcx.legos)

Orion: please contact me regarding LDDP

Sorry for the personal post, but I've sent two emails to Orion without a response to either (the first sent months ago), so I'm concerned that my messages are being swallowed by a SPAM filter. Orion, I had a suggestion for improving the interaction (...) (16 years ago, 4-Apr-09, to lugnet.cad.dev)

Disabling external modification checks in LDDP

Hi again, is anybody aware of how to stop the external modification checks in LDraw Design Pad? It's a nice feature, though whenever I edit a file I've got open in LDDP with another program, many times I get "bombarded" with about four dozen of (...) (16 years ago, 4-Apr-09, to lugnet.cad, FTX)

  Re: BrickOS Patches and Development

Hi, (...) I had worked to assimilate those patches prior to the second version of the performance patch being posted, so I'm glad to hear that it also works well. (...) When I went back through to add TCP support to other things, that "similar but (...) (16 years ago, 4-Apr-09, to lugnet.robotics.rcx.legos)

Re: PF train motor / train speed and pulling power / noise generation

(...) Hi Dave, yes the Emerald is not really a quiet train and from my perception it is slighly noisier than old 9V equipment. The sound is definitely different: 9V has a more metallic sound: quite harsh. The PF motor + gearing generates quite a (...) (16 years ago, 4-Apr-09, to lugnet.trains)

Re: PF train motor / train speed and pulling power

(...) Ben: Wow. Thanks for the video link! It looks pretty cool running there, and the speed seems to be reasonable. I don't necessarily run my trains very fast, I just usually have 5-7 pieces of rolling stock hooked on back of the freight trains. I (...) (16 years ago, 4-Apr-09, to lugnet.trains)

Re: PF train motor / train speed and pulling power

(...) Hi Dave, I was lucky to receive an Emerald train as kind of beta tester. It got motorized with a XL-PF-motor as intended in the building instruction, but I have used an old 9V battery box (equipped with 6 pc. of 1.2V NiMH rechargable (...) (16 years ago, 4-Apr-09, to lugnet.trains)

Re: (correct link) The Future of LEGO(R) CITY Lies With the People

(...) As long as the track is compatible, it's OK with me. Like the same way the new PF/RC track is compatible with 9V track. As far as the motors go, I would like to see PF, instead of the old style motors, anyway. Even a complete train redesign, (...)   Re: Help needed on gear spacing, and another question

(...) For instance, have a "floating" worm-gear-based gearbox sliding along that axle, with the 8t gears engaging an external stationary rack? If the worm gear doesn't have very far to travel, you could also substitute a rack gear or two for a (...) (16 years ago, 3-Apr-09, to lugnet.technic)
