  Re: RCX Currnet Rating?

You mean you use the red motor/switch combination as a sort of 'electronic' fuse? Oh, right. While I'm typing I suddenly see what you mean. You use an external power supply for the motors. Clever. Isn't the switching a little slow using the (...) (25 years ago, 5-Sep-99, to lugnet.robotics.rcx)

  Re: Pickup truck - Datsville

Beetle was so-so. Not your fault, guess it's Mission Impossible. But the truck is excellent! Without a doubt, it's among the top 10 minifig scaled vehicles I've seen! /Tore (...) (25 years ago, 5-Sep-99, to lugnet.cad.dat.models)

  M-Peedy problem

I finally got around to installing M-Peedy on my home computer, but I can't get the splitter part to work. It says it has created 3 .dat files, but the files are nowhere to be find (even using W95's find files on the whole drive). The .mpd maker (...) (25 years ago, 5-Sep-99, to lugnet.cad)

  Datsville: Furniture store?

I have seen a bounch of furniture dats somewhere here in Lugnet. What if we make a two-level furniture store with panorama windows and some lamps lit inside? :))) /Tore (25 years ago, 5-Sep-99, to lugnet.cad.dat.models)

  Lego Catalogue

Is there an accepted catalogue/inventory method/numbering system for Lego pieces? There is a number on some Lego pieces, is there something to refer this number to? How does the 'spare parts' department catalogue their inventory? Hope some wiser (...) (25 years ago, 5-Sep-99, to lugnet.general)

Very nice! Is there anywhere I could find a picture of the slope brick(s?) in question? I don't know how they look. I would probably prefer an inlined mock-up than a substitute. /Tore (...) (25 years ago, 5-Sep-99, to lugnet.cad.dat.models)

Re: I just finished a makeover of my site....

I did a 256 gif export using Photoshop 5.5, and then did 15% lossy compression, and cut the colors down to 16. The files turned out to be 2-4 k gif files, download time cut down to a third of previous value!. It still looks pretty nice too. Pat J (...) (25 years ago, 5-Sep-99, to lugnet.publish)

  Re: RCX Currnet Rating?

The best way to avoid high current running thru the brick is to control a small red motor which drives one of the polarity switches which is hooked up to a battery pack and that in turn runs the main motors. We had this problem at the LEGO (...) (25 years ago, 5-Sep-99, to lugnet.robotics.rcx)

Re: I just finished a makeover of my site....

(...) It *does* take a while to load. I would suggest greater JPG compression for the photos of the models and GIF compression for the text (reduce to about 8 colors first). --Bram (25 years ago, 5-Sep-99, to lugnet.publish)

Do you think I should shrink the images a bit, or just put the info tab back next to the image? I'm trying to shrink and do a gif convert on all of the files to reduce load time. Any other suggestions? Pat J <---...---open ears (...) (25 years ago, 5-Sep-99, to lugnet.publish)
