Is there an accepted catalogue/inventory method/numbering system for Lego pieces? There is a number on some Lego pieces, is there something to refer this number to? How does the 'spare parts' department catalogue their inventory? Hope some wiser (...) (27 years ago, 5-Sep-99, to lugnet.general)

I did a 256 gif export using Photoshop 5.5, and then did 15% lossy compression, and cut the colors down to 16. The files turned out to be 2-4 k gif files, download time cut down to a third of previous value!. It still looks pretty nice too. Pat J (...) (27 years ago, 5-Sep-99, to lugnet.publish)

The best way to avoid high current running thru the brick is to control a small red motor which drives one of the polarity switches which is hooked up to a battery pack and that in turn runs the main motors. We had this problem at the LEGO (...) (27 years ago, 5-Sep-99, to lugnet.robotics.rcx)

(...) It *does* take a while to load. I would suggest greater JPG compression for the photos of the models and GIF compression for the text (reduce to about 8 colors first). --Bram (27 years ago, 5-Sep-99, to lugnet.publish)
