Re: Walker useing new leg design

(...) thanks Dave, glad to see you are still around - we missed you at r22 when I kicked robot butt! In other news, this leg has inspired me to try to modify it so I can use it for my grand dream of my 6 leg rcx powered walker. I dont have video of (...)   Re: Scaling up Sculpture

(...) I was hoping to smooth out some of that blockiness. It'll still look like it's made from Lego pieces, I'm sure. I guess I'll just have to build it and see. Thanks for the info. (17 years ago, 21-Oct-07, to lugnet.build.sculpture)

  Re: Scaling up Sculpture

(...) The folks at Legoland usually just scale models exactly. So each brick becomes 3 bricks high, each plate becomes 1 brick high, and each stud becomes a 3x3 square of studs. The end result will be just as blocky as the original, so it will be (...) (17 years ago, 21-Oct-07, to lugnet.build.sculpture)

  Scaling up Sculpture

Does anybody have experience scaling up a sculpture? I have a MLCad model of Yoda- the Target exclusive. I'd like to build that at 3x scale. I can see how to do it- but I'd appreciate any practical advice. As for parts- I'm sorting those out now. I (...) (17 years ago, 21-Oct-07, to lugnet.build.sculpture)

Re: The demise of the urban landscape

Most tragic news I've heard in ages, and a castle isn't even at stake ; ) If it's any consolation I've spent most of the last two years separated from my (stored) lego... God Bless, Nathan (17 years ago, 21-Oct-07, to lugnet.market.buy-sell-trade)

Re: The demise of the urban landscape

(...) Okay, Jonathan: I fly out to NYC; we rent a truck, take apart the layout, pack it up, drive to Dan's. Next day, we set it up, and then drive back. Long weekend; done. Might be fun, bro! :-) JOHN (17 years ago, 21-Oct-07, to lugnet.market.buy-sell-trade, lugnet.trains, lugnet.general, FTX)

Re: The demise of the urban landscape

(...) Jonathan, Mike has a good point. You really cannot break up this work of art. It would be like auctioning pieces of the Statue of Liberty - your display is like a national monument! Not being "set up for moving" would not stop Dan, you should (...) (17 years ago, 21-Oct-07, to lugnet.market.buy-sell-trade)

  Re: Track Designer and Wine/Darwine

(...) Bad form replying to my own post, but I figured out a way to make Track Designer work. I can ctrl click an object to select it (light it up blue). and then I ctrl+arrow to switch to the blinking cursor. It's not perfect, but it's better than (...)   Re: Weren't we all expecting this??

(...) Actually, that is an interesting article about a controversial article. The test that the magazine had done involved scratching off the plastic, heating plastic in a solution of nitric acid (this is a typical way a lab tests for lead in paint (...)   Track Designer and Wine/Darwine

So, I installed Darwine on my MBP, and I was excited, at first, to see that TD.exe worked. I've tried using it a bit, and I've discovered that using the mouse to select things doesn't quite work right. Ctrl Clicking selects multiple objects, and (...) (...) Thank you John. Please encourage Ross to work more on robots, and less on that "other" thing you do. ;) Also have Ross try the simulator Philo posted. It works like a charm. (...) Hypercube?   Re: Persian Caravan

(...) Nicely done. I think the camels are pretty creatively done - looks like you might be able to use some 1x2 modified plates with single studs on the back to allow centering mounted riders, too.
