  Re: Why LDraw.org doesn't use ldconfig.ldr ???

(...) Oooo! Thanks for mentioning this. I had forgotten about it, as if I never knew it. After messing around, I (manually) got the image for 58119.dat straightened out (URL) But I haven't convinced the script that it should run this way. Yet. If (...) (17 years ago, 2-Oct-07, to lugnet.cad)

  Re: The Future of Trains

(...) *coughBIONICLEcough* Ok, granted, it rarely involves face-to-face interaction on the same level as more AFOL-friendly themes, but it still counts. (17 years ago, 2-Oct-07, to lugnet.lego)

  Re: The Future of Trains

(...) More accurately, Li-Ion batteries, _unlike_ most other battery types, do age. NiCads wear out through use, or through improper partial charging, and have a moderate shelf discharge (depleting the charge while just sitting unused). NiMHs wear (...) (17 years ago, 2-Oct-07, to lugnet.lego)

  Re: The Future of Trains

(...) Steve, Pardon me for saying so, but your statement above is a little confusing. How was the conversion from 12v to 9v a "ground up" switch. The 12v trains I have run on the 9v track. The 9v trains I have run on the 12v track I have (well they (...) (17 years ago, 2-Oct-07, to lugnet.lego)

  The Ruby Runner

I was recently commissioned to create a red version of my Henry Dreyfuss inspired streamlined hudson, named 'The Ruby Runner'. To get my mind off of the death of 9v trains I decided to share the pictures of the finished product. So here it is: (...) (17 years ago, 2-Oct-07, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.general, FTX)

Re: A much needed corner building

(...) Thanks, Brother. When my train motors wear out, maybe you and Ross can come over and help me push the trains along the track by hand. They're only 6 wide so we should be able to push for a long time before we wear out. They're lighter than 8 (...) (17 years ago, 2-Oct-07, to lugnet.town, FTX)

Re: A much needed corner building

(...) Thanks, Jim. I actually considered doing that effect for the entire facade - even the non-curved areas, but my wallet won out. My rent is going up faster than my salary. I had exactly enough 1x1 rounds in dark orange to do the curve so I kept (...) (17 years ago, 2-Oct-07, to lugnet.town)

  Re: Why LDraw.org doesn't use ldconfig.ldr ???

(...) While I agree with Willy's assessment that it may be time to move on to ldview for the part tracker, I did run a quick test and it looks like ldglite does support modified colors like 71 or 72 with the ldliterc.dat file. Perhaps the location (...) (17 years ago, 2-Oct-07, to lugnet.cad)

  Re: The Future of Trains

(...) I'm going to take this comment and take the idea one step further (and use you as an example to boot:-) I agree with you, Ben, and more importantly, I believe that is how TLG sees themselves as well. Further, I believe TLG believes itself to (...) (17 years ago, 2-Oct-07, to lugnet.lego, FTX)

  Re: The Future of Trains

(...) Ben, I couldn't agree more. We have to look at this not as the end of an era, but as a new beginning and a chance to embrace new technology. I am thoroughly excited about the possibilities that lie ahead for LEGO Trains. As you stated, this is (...) (17 years ago, 2-Oct-07, to lugnet.lego)

  Re: The Future of Trains

  A much needed corner building

Hello, I had a vacant lot on a rather prominent area of my layout for way to long and finally got the inspiration to fill it last week. (URL) am pleased with the way the building came out. (...) Actually... that's kind of a good buisness model I'm told. (...) I did want to mention two points here. First, battery-powered motors don't have to be "underpowered". As an example, the PF XL motor or the NXT motors (several of us have twisted (...) (17 years ago, 2-Oct-07, to lugnet.lego)
