Re: Hypothetically speaking? the future of IR/RC trains

(...) I'm going to rely on my 9V trains simply for power and control. But, if LEGO want me to buy more IR stuff then they could consider the following: A 16-stud version of the IR base. They'd only need to re-mould the top part, then you could use (...) (19 years ago, 17-Feb-07, to lugnet.trains, FTX)

Re: A sad day for BIP?

(...) Anything's possible :) Actually, that's a pretty dang smart idea. See, when I first created the site, I didn't want to create a scenario where people were seeing their content show up on the site without their explicit permission. But the (...) Would it be possible to transfer the content to BrickWiki and not have to mess about with coding and maintaing a whole seperate site? (19 years ago, 17-Feb-07, to lugnet.inst, lugnet.general, lugnet.publish)

Re: Galaxy Explorer the Way it Should Have Been ;o)

(...) Playing with color can be fun. It is Futuron, not true Classic, but I do have a copy of the Stardefender 200 that I built in the Blacktron I color scheme. (...) Yes, now that I think of it, a single control, if it could move in three (...) (19 years ago, 17-Feb-07, to lugnet.space, FTX)

  A sad day for BIP?

All, After something like 5 years I'm sad to announce my intentions to shut down the Building Instructions Portal (www.bricksonthebrai...ructions). Years ago when i first created the site I was a code newbie (although some may argue that I'm STILL a (...) (19 years ago, 17-Feb-07, to lugnet.inst, lugnet.general, lugnet.publish) !!

Re: Hypothetically speaking? the future of IR/RC trains

(...) Probably not, at least for enough years to matter to TLG's bottom line. My purchases are less than 1/10 of pre-Bley already without the TrackChange issue, but so far I've bought *TWO* "new" train sets (ones that involve the new track system, (...) (19 years ago, 17-Feb-07, to lugnet.trains)

Re: BrickJournal Issue 6 is OUT!

(...) This is the first issue for which I haven't written an article, so I feel like now is a better time to comment on the writers and contributors to BrickJournal without sounding too self-aggrandizing. Having edited a number of articles for both (...) (19 years ago, 17-Feb-07, to lugnet.publish.brickjournal, FTX)

  Re: Rhino Armored Vehicles

Soren, Thanks for the tip, I'll have another go at it when I can, although I'm about to move so it may not be for a little while. I'm thinking maybe some kind of large raiseable antenna or something. On a side note I'm a big fan of your tanks and (...) (19 years ago, 17-Feb-07, to lugnet.build.military, FTX)

  Re: Rhino Armored Vehicles

Jude Thanks for the comments! I just moved the Rhino to a display where it will be for a month, so I can't take pix of the suspension system, but it is basically a variant of what I've done in the past - I groups wheels in pairs - a little like (...)
