  Re: MOC: Frauenkirche Dresden

(...) SNIP There are good MOCs, and there are GOOD MOCs. This definitely falls in the latter. HoMa: I wish that I had both the bricks and the patience to build a MOC such as yours. Your detailing and part selection is excellent. I second John Neal, (...) (20 years ago, 15-Sep-06, to lugnet.build.arch, lugnet.build.schleim, FTX)

(...) thanks for the appreciation. although the walled platform was not part of the original sculptures, i had as much fun making it as i did the buildings, because i was trying to capture that ancient, crumbling wall feeling that you get in the (...)   Re: MOC: Frauenkirche Dresden

(...) This kind of great work is one of the reasons I no longer make MOCs!! :-) Great detail work and quite the eye for details. I bet you would be able to make an awesome real life ship or plane at this rate. If it weren't for the real life people (...) (...) Wow. I am speachless. when one clicks on a link, unsure of if it is a reference shot, or the model. You know it is a job well done. The attention to detail is amazing, as is the multitude of different building styles. I am a fan of rendering (...) (20 years ago, 14-Sep-06, to lugnet.build.arch, lugnet.build.schleim, FTX)

  Re: Brisbane CBD

(...) I've noticed the same thing in the Melbourne CBD Target. Had a fantastic range on the opening day of the sale. Now has half a shelf of basicly nothing. Myer CBD has the best range, DJ's has about as much as target, and Big W is about (...) (20 years ago, 14-Sep-06, to lugnet.loc.au)

snip The model is spot on from start to finish. I loved the way you handled the walls. And running my fingers over the roof slopes was fun. As always so much is lost because of having only pictures. This is a beauty to walk around and peek at all (...) (20 years ago, 14-Sep-06, to lugnet.build.arch, FTX)

  Re: BrickFest 2007 location

(...) - Mucho snippo - (...) Comparisons with SF cons are pretty valid - especially if you consider HoB's affiliation with one in Chicago. In the end, I think it'll come down to fan saturation and "market" pressures - what venues will be able to (...) (20 years ago, 14-Sep-06, to lugnet.events.brickfest)

  Re: BrickFest 2007 location

Hey, Ever hear of WorldCon. It's The premiere SciFi con, it moves every year and groups compete/bid for 2-3 years in advance to host it. So I see no reason why brickfest in all its glory could not become similar. I for one have never been to, and (...) (20 years ago, 14-Sep-06, to lugnet.events.brickfest)

  Re: BrickFest 2007 location

(...) I think our hobby is large enough to sustain multiple fests. Sure, most folks will only attend one per year. Other folks are willing, able, and excited, to attend multiple. That said, most hobbies also have one major event per year. In some (...) (20 years ago, 14-Sep-06, to lugnet.events.brickfest)
