Re: BrickFest registration fees (was: LEGO Adult Fan Convention at Legoland California?)

(...) There you have it Todd and you people who want to put on an event in California--pretty much a blue print for what needs to be done (+ getting Jake's fingers a massage so he could keep typing). As I said when first started down this thread--I (...) (20 years ago, 9-Sep-06, to lugnet.events, lugnet.events.brickfest)

Re: BrickFest registration fees (was: LEGO Adult Fan Convention at Legoland California?)

(...) Anthony, all due respect when I say this - I think you're woefully underestimating the time required to put on such an event.   Re: BrickFest registration fees (was: LEGO Adult Fan Convention at Legoland California?)

(...) As someone would has built a career on trying to understand why consumers/users/fans volunteer to help out the brands they love, this is a fascinating discussion!   Re: TRU and Prices

You know, there was a class-action lawsuit against KB for artificially inflating MSRP to make it seem like their discount was larger... Perhaps someone should remind TRU of that, and warn that KB lost that one... (...) (20 years ago, 9-Sep-06, to lugnet.market.shopping)

  RE: Light sensor sampling freq?

Standard Lego firmware samples every 3 msec. BricOS is much faster. I believe it is faster than once per second. RobotC on NXT is programmable to be 0.5 msec scan, 1 msec, 2 msec, ... up to 255 msec. But remember the readings are not persistent. If (...) (20 years ago, 9-Sep-06, to lugnet.robotics.nxt)

Re: LEGO Adult Fan Convention at Legoland California?

Todd, I imagine that enough time has passed that the ghosts of Brickswest past have been exercised. I have worried for some time now that the negative way that BW ended has clouded how cool of an event this actually was. People flew in from all (...) (20 years ago, 9-Sep-06, to lugnet.events)

  Light sensor sampling freq?

I'm working on a little nav idea that my robot can find my 'base' which is sweping a bright red led 'laser' over the area. I have to admit that I ventured into the Xacto and crazy glue area by using a 'laser' pointer and glueing four tiny mirrors (...) (20 years ago, 9-Sep-06, to lugnet.robotics.nxt)

Re: BrickFest registration fees (was: LEGO Adult Fan Convention at Legoland California?)

(...) Good question about volunteers. I think it's all about what's expected up front.   Re: Maximum depth of ldraw models?

The thread seems to be splitting from the original point, It is a fact that OpenGL generally places a depth of 16 on any transforms. If an LDRAW model in MPD format was presented to OpenGL as a raw data block I suspect that OpenGL would easily hit (...) (20 years ago, 8-Sep-06, to lugnet.cad.dev)
