Re: 9V Train Motor Being Discontinued?

(...) I asked other members of RichLUG to respond last evening so we could reach consensus. So far Rich and Dustin have responded: Rich - I don't believe that our club would disband over this. If it was a decision by consensus to use the new train (...) (20 years ago, 29-Mar-06, to lugnet.trains)

Re: Bricksmith 1.3: Here's Looking at You, Kid

(...) I don't think it has to be. My friend made me a parts list from MLCAD and it was arranged alphabetically by part description. I think it would make the most logical sense to sort a parts list by part number. Russell (20 years ago, 29-Mar-06, to lugnet.cad.dev.mac, FTX)

(...) So what are you saying? 0.0737087601KG in G is about 73 G. thats means, (useing your chart) with 3 motors, and 1 rcx, you have 73 grams left. with 73 grams, you can have 1 lx, one touch and one rotation sensor, (20 g) that leaves you with 53 (...)   Re: 9V Train Motor Being Discontinued?

(...) Just a thought question from this: What do folks think about the fact that almost every other model railroad displayed at a train show displays obsolete, no longer available products? How about the American Flyer folks, or the vintage Lionel (...) (20 years ago, 29-Mar-06, to lugnet.trains)

(...) Based on these results, and adding a third old gear motor, I get 0.8375 LB So, that leaves 0.1625 LB (1)(2) for sensors and parts. (3) the more I see it, the more I LIKE the 1 lb rule! beams and parts are not all that heavy, so 2 oz should be (...) (20 years ago, 29-Mar-06, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

Re: 9V Train Motor Being Discontinued?

(...) This is a good point which bears repeating in my mind. If TLG thinks that we as LEGO train AFOLs think this will somehow be a BETTER system, then they are (again) sorely mistaken. As Mark said, however, TLG is a toy company, so the point may (...) (20 years ago, 29-Mar-06, to lugnet.trains, FTX)

(...) All masses in pounds (stupid scale): RCX with batteries = 0.56 - 0.60 (depending on batteries) Two light gearmotors = 0.13 Two "old" gearmotors = 0.185 So an RCX with two motors is between 0.69 and 0.785 pounds. Not a lot of room in there. (...) (20 years ago, 29-Mar-06, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)
