  Re: Mechanical obstacle avoider

Thanks Ignacio and Philo for the nice comments! I hadn't seen "Rock Stupid Rover" - very interesting. The idea of "mechanical computing" is fascinating. Some kind of signal amplification using a power source seems essential if one is to make complex (...) (20 years ago, 15-Dec-05, to lugnet.technic)

  Re: Vehicle with square wheels

Here is my attempt (not as elegant as Philo's!) I used old half bushes in a slightly different way. Gear lash seems pretty low. The gear train for the rotating weight needs some work though... (URL) Alexander (20 years ago, 15-Dec-05, to lugnet.technic)

Re: Can't See The Forest For The Trees?

(...) Hey, Chris- Ha, thought you were stuck with a bunch of Simpsons individual stringettes, eh? (sorry; obscure python reference) Yeah, recycle those babies! They need be only 3 mm long! But mind you: My "***Mutilation Alert***" also applied to my (...) (20 years ago, 15-Dec-05, to lugnet.trains.org, lugnet.town, lugnet.castle, FTX)

  Re: LPub woes

(...) I don't think it will solve your problem, but the just-released official LDView 3.0 should have some LPub-related fixes vs. the LDView 3.0 RC 1 release. --Travis Cobbs (20 years ago, 15-Dec-05, to lugnet.cad)

  *** LDView Version 3.0 Released ***

It's been a little over a year since LDView 3.0 Beta 1 was released, but LDView 3.0 is finally done. You can get it for both Windows and Linux, as well as the source code, from the LDView downloads page here: (URL) Compared to LDView 3.0 RC1, this (...)   #65537 Classic train Set MISB

I have posted an auction for a #65537 My Own Train (classic train set) on E-bay. This MISB from last year. I decided to sell the set since I have a few of the same trains. Some of the cars, including the large blue tender are no longer available on (...) (20 years ago, 15-Dec-05, to lugnet.market.auction)

  X-pod Chrissie Decorations

Hi everyone probably not a new idea but it came to me today whilst in Kmart Buy an even number of Red and Green X-Pods. If you're lucky the Kmart near you will have them on clearance and then add another 20% for their sale .. I picked mine up for (...) (20 years ago, 15-Dec-05, to lugnet.loc.au)

  Got balls? Heads up.

After seeing the great ball moving into more and more train layouts... the "soccer" balls, seem a bit .... uh "strange" for lack of a better word. After a bit of group discussion, I was looking for a Lego substitute... Technic Ball Joints? Black or (...) (20 years ago, 15-Dec-05, to lugnet.org.us.laflrc, lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto, FTX)

  Re: Nwe MOC: Goliath

(...) ..snip.. (...) Yeah I know. Getting a moc "right" rarely happens on the first build. Prototypes, redesign, and refining seems to be the way-of-the-builder. (...) If you do get that project off the ground, make sure you keep us posted! For (...) (20 years ago, 15-Dec-05, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)
