Crazy idea for third-party Factory-like service

All right, the new LDD and LEGO Factory have inspired this idea, which is a dumb one but I have to get it off my chest anyway: Somebody with reasonable technical skills and a decent amount of time on their hands could set up a service similar to (...) (20 years ago, 26-Aug-05, to lugnet.cad, FTX)

  Re: Announcing Bricksmith for Macintosh

(...) Look into the MegaPOV enhancement, I think that adds edge lines. (that's about all I know, I render using LDLite with fat edge lines configured in when I am doing instructions. I THINK maybe LDGLite supports that too? not sure) Hope that (...) (20 years ago, 26-Aug-05, to lugnet.cad.dev.mac, FTX)

Re: How to rotate a part in LDD (Mac)?

(...) Well, there's no reason they couldn't have it both ways; add keys to move the pieces in X and Z after it's placed (in addition to the existing Y movement), and also to rotate it. Then you could move/rotate the piece while it's clinging to the (...) (20 years ago, 26-Aug-05, to lugnet.general, FTX)

  Re: Announcing Bricksmith for Macintosh

(...) Thanks, Anton. I tried your converter the other day, and it gave me blank files, so I gave up on it and just downloaded L3D (which worked fine). But now I'll give your converter another try too. Incidentally, though, I don't find POV-Ray (...) (20 years ago, 26-Aug-05, to lugnet.cad.dev.mac, FTX)

Where did we go, they asked?

So last night I was out around midnight at Bathurst and Bloor and I was incredibly hungry. So I thought, it would be a good idea to go to Mel's Montreal Deli, after many months of going to more health (eg Sushi on Bloor and Fresh) oriented (...)   Re: Ability of newer 9V motors

(...) Does that rubber band pull the switch to the off position? If so, that's pretty clever. I just put my polarity switches directly onto the train transformer on that section to the left of the dial. (20 years ago, 26-Aug-05, to lugnet.trains, FTX)
