Have '87 Catalog with many alternate/different set names

Hey all, I was given a bag of Lego a few days ago that had a number of old set instructions along with a product catalog that has different names for almost all of the sets listed. According to the back, the catalog was printed in Germany by Frank (...) (21 years ago, 17-Aug-05, to lugnet.general)

  BrickFest 2005 Castle Room wrapup

Well I don't know about you guys, but I'm still floating on a cloud somewhere up there... The people, the MOCs, the building inspiration that comes from an event like this has to be experienced to be appreciated. My head is exloding with building (...)   Lego Train Factory - "preliminary wagon design"

In Jake's notes, (URL) mentions a "preliminary wagon design" slide. Does anyone have a screen capture of this? Bryan (21 years ago, 17-Aug-05, to lugnet.trains)

Re: Brickfest makes local news in Minneapolis, Chicago, Atlanta and TAMPA too!!

(...) Two of my coworkers said it was on WTVT 13 (FOX) here in Tampa and one guy thinks he was watching FOX News Channel on Direct TV and saw it too. Robin Werner GFLUG (21 years ago, 17-Aug-05, to lugnet.events.brickfest)

  Re: All plastic track

(...) When you say "prohibitively expensive", it's important to put it in context. If you're talking about a 5 year old getting into trains for the first time, metal rails are certainly expensive. If you're talking about a Hobby Train, then that's a (...) (21 years ago, 17-Aug-05, to lugnet.trains, FTX)

  Re: All plastic track

(...) OK, here's two I was *dying* to ask at BrickFest, but didn't want to take time away from the more "serious" questioners (i.e. - I'm not first & formost a train type). (1) What is the battery life goal? (2) Is the IR system potential compatable (...) (21 years ago, 16-Aug-05, to lugnet.trains, FTX)

Re: Mecha Contests at BrickFest 2005!

(...) So who were the winners of all the contests and where are their mecha pictures? I need the vicarious enjoyment during my summer mecha building hiatus. :-) K (21 years ago, 16-Aug-05, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

  Re: All plastic track

(...) Ahhh ok I get what you're saying. Strange thing is, I did think to myself - what if Ted is actually referring to the individual 9V components themselves? -Bryan (21 years ago, 16-Aug-05, to lugnet.trains, FTX)

  Re: All plastic track

(...) Joe- I wrote that TLC announced that it is "focusing" on a new "play train" system that will be widely available and that the 9V "hobby train" will be relegated to lego.com and S@H sources, My "observations" were based on what what was said (...)   Vance Quantum line at LEGO Factory?

Jamie, once LEGO Factory gets underway, will we be seeing a line of Vance Quantum models available for sale? The base would be a huge one, but perhaps you could break it into several sets that can be built separately or fit together. Best, Joe (21 years ago, 16-Aug-05, to lugnet.space, FTX)

  Re: All plastic track

(...) Joe- Most of the train stuff we have ever bought was on close out at Target, TRU, or the tent sale at LLCA. And the best deals we've gotten from BrickLink presumably originated from retails stores, not LEGO brand stores. Our best deal ever was (...) (21 years ago, 16-Aug-05, to lugnet.trains, FTX)

  Re: All plastic track

(...) Bryan- Ah, we are not quite communicating., I'm saying nothing good is happening with 9V train components, the stuff that handles 9VDC that makes the "hobby train" system as opposed to the "play train" system. Specifically, I mean motors, (...) (21 years ago, 16-Aug-05, to lugnet.trains, FTX)

  Re: All plastic track

(...) First, to be completely clear about a very very important distinction - we're not "switching", we're "including". Plastic rails will not kill the metal rails. Metal rails will continue into the future. We are working on production process that (...) (21 years ago, 16-Aug-05, to lugnet.trains, FTX)

How LEGO Factory could revive Pirates

I'm excited about the upcoming LEGO Factory. Here's notes from Jake about it: (URL) With this, and just a little bit of support from LEGO (such as the reintroduction of pirate minifigs and sails, and a couple other specialized parts), we could (...)   Re: All plastic track

Re: LEGNET to change hands while continuing normal operation

So will this now be called Daimler-LUGNET? :) (sorry, car joke) Darrell ps Speaking for all the newbies, I'm glad this transition will mean LUGNET will continue in good hands. Thanks! :) (21 years ago, 14-Aug-05, to lugnet.general, lugnet.admin.general, FTX)

  Re: All plastic track

(...) Ted, I'm sure all of us will agree that 9V train stuff is expensive. That means most retail stores (apart from LEGO stores and independent toy store) will avoid stocking these items except maybe during the Christmas season. So you're right in (...) (...) I didn't attend that talk, but I did listen to it in MP3 form, and I didn't get that impression at all.
