  RE: What is ALE?

(...) I thought ALE was a particular type of alcoholic libation. I don't drink much, so I don't know the difference between, say.. Stout, Ale, Beer, etc.. Scott (21 years ago, 2-Jun-05, to lugnet.general)

Re: what is ALE? (was Re: Brickshelf going away???)

(...) I dare say in some cases it could possibly mean "Adult LEGO Extremist"... Scott (21 years ago, 2-Jun-05, to lugnet.general)

Re: Can you help a new user?

(...) Thanks for the replies. I see everything that you mentioned. I can even look through the inventory. I just can't get a brick to place. I am a little computer dumb. How does one update the drivers? (21 years ago, 3-Jun-05, to lugnet.cad.leocad)

  Re: what is ALE?

(...) OK, that was a low blow, I apologize! (...) Heh, true in that case, but that's because trains have become widely accepted as an adult hobby. LEGO has not. (...) Yes, and they'll be thinking: "This guy plays with LEGOs? Does he still live with (...) (21 years ago, 3-Jun-05, to lugnet.general, FTX)

The 8416 forklift and 8420 motorcycle are starting to show up in larger TRU stores in the Toronto, Ontario area.... but.... I was completely shocked after seeing this 1884-piece monstrosity on the shelf at TRU THIS EARLY!!! (there were only 2, and (...)   Re: for robots and industry: BlueTooth bad, Zigbee good - thanks for response

I have watched this thread for a while, but not "joined in" as I am not personally familiar with implementing Bluetooth. However, I have a question about the assertion that Bluetooth necessarily requires high power consumption; How well do coin cell (...) (21 years ago, 3-Jun-05, to lugnet.robotics)

  The schooner Madeleine's Daughter

Ahoy! The Mayor of Port Brique had long felt the need of personal transport, not always wanting to impose on the French Squadron, and thus commissioned the shipwrights to build him a vessel. His requirements were simple, speed, agility, appropriate (...) (21 years ago, 3-Jun-05, to lugnet.pirates, lugnet.boats, lugnet.announce.moc, FTX)

  Re: Brickshelf going away???

(...) Yeah, valid points. And I'm not really talking about cleaning out good stuff, or even ugly stuff. But upon inspection of my gallery, I may discover that I have 4 photos of basically the same shot. 3 of those could go away easily. Jake --- Jake (...) (21 years ago, 2-Jun-05, to lugnet.general)

  Re: Club Trolley Revisited

(...) My renders of the other color schemes got nixed half-way through the render process. I hadn't bothered to re-render them. I will now that you are curious. They're nothing special. The trolley should have had dark grey doors instead of brown (...) (21 years ago, 2-Jun-05, to lugnet.trains, FTX)

MOC Cards are GREAT!! was Re: Space! at BrickFest 2005

(...) Yes, Larry understands me well. And actually, there is a bit of information about HOW to fill out your MOC card for Moonbase modules in the original announcements that would also help out. MOC Cards are AWESOME!!! -Lenny (21 years ago, 2-Jun-05, to lugnet.space, lugnet.events.brickfest, FTX)

  Re: Brickshelf going away???

(...) I personally don't like it when people clean out their galleries. What you think is unimportant might be something really cool to me. I'm getting in the habit of saving pictures of stuff I like, but usually I just bookmark the link. Right now (...) (21 years ago, 2-Jun-05, to lugnet.general, FTX)

Re: for robots and industry: BlueTooth bad, Zigbee good - thanks for response

(...) I should have made it more clear that all my BT remarks were in the context of use in the industrial or embedded spaces such as robotics where we get access to the hardware. Sure, millions of BT cell phones are shipping, but that's no help to (...) (21 years ago, 2-Jun-05, to lugnet.robotics)

(...) Methinks he doth protest too much. Out with it-- that dirty little secret will eat you alive, Dave! <snip> (...) It may have been a little wily, but I categorically deny any nilly! If it ain't OT yet, I'll make it so, number 1! (FUTOTF) JOHN (21 years ago, 2-Jun-05, to lugnet.general, FTX)

  Re: Space! at BrickFest 2005

(...) Translation: Fill out the MOC Card form! That's how the coordinators know what's coming and how they can plan. Big OR small, every creation that shows up should have a MOC card in the system... it really really really helps a lot. (...) (21 years ago, 2-Jun-05, to lugnet.space, lugnet.events.brickfest, FTX)

In lugnet.general, Bob Kojima wrote: Someone asked: (how can one back up one's entire gallery on BrickShelf?) (...) Wow, what a great idea and what a nice thing to do for the community. Where do you want bug reports? (21 years ago, 2-Jun-05, to lugnet.general, FTX)

  Re: Space! at BrickFest 2005

(...) Exactly my idea Bruce. Also, people can contribute by bringing maintainence crews, etc. I'd love to see a bunch of little maintainence rovers and whatnot. Stuff like that would be in the running for Best Detail - we want to see small stuff (...) (21 years ago, 2-Jun-05, to lugnet.space, lugnet.events.brickfest, FTX)

  Re: Space! at BrickFest 2005

(...) Actually, from this (URL) it looks like it was 2x2. 4x4 is pretty darn huge - that would be 60 inches x 60 inches - or 5ft by 5ft. That would be great. If something that big just happens to show up at fest, Dan and I will make whatever changes (...) (21 years ago, 2-Jun-05, to lugnet.space, lugnet.events.brickfest, FTX)

  Re: Space! at BrickFest 2005

(...) Hey Lenny, That's a great idea. Interspersing some "parking lot" spaces between the modules also makes it possible for a lot of people who can't bring full modules to participate in the layout by adding their small ships.
