I've told people at train shows that it's possible to build great things will small collections, but I've not tried it myself. Sitting at around 300K (...) (...) I don't think it's fair to say that you could "never" build a MOC with those color schemes. I built (URL) house> with only purple parts from 6 copies of the (URL) Mini Knight's Bus>. I'd guess that you could build a house from one copy of the (...) (21 years ago, 26-May-05, to lugnet.color, FTX)
