  Re: Swarm?

(...) Swarm as in: (URL) (...) Not a bad idea, to have the kids each build an identical robot, then give 'em the swarm challenge. I was thinking just a intro demo, really, but I could turn it into curriculum. Thanks for the input! Andrew Meyer (21 years ago, 6-May-05, to lugnet.robotics, FTX)

  Recycling Train

While it isn't based on any real life train, I imagine it could be...Here is (URL) Concept Zia Recycling System>. This is a recycling concept road and rail system. The recycling containers are modular, able to be attach to a road truck or into a (...) (21 years ago, 6-May-05, to lugnet.trains, FTX)

Re: 8 Wide LEGO Thomas! (pics)

(...) lol Hey Russ- I was actually thinking about you when I was building this stuff-- how will these sets affect your LEGO Thomas presentation? JOHN (21 years ago, 6-May-05, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.duplo, FTX)

Re: 8 Wide LEGO Thomas! (pics)

(...) SWEET! I have been thinking about doing something very similiar since I first saw the preview pictures. John, you might get me to go 8-wide after all. ;-) Russell BayLTC/BayLUG (21 years ago, 6-May-05, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.duplo, FTX)

Re: 8 Wide LEGO Thomas! (pics)

(...) They are five studs in diameter. The faces I used on my 6 wide Thomas characters were just shy of 4 wide. I think that these new faces would be virtually impossible to use on 6 wide trains and have the results look good (except, perhaps, for (...)   Re: Warhammer IIIA

(...) Thanks Jeff. The doubling up of the ball joints makes a huge difference. The body is absolutely stable. Mark (21 years ago, 6-May-05, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

  Re: Warhammer IIIA

(...) Thanks man, the pics are now up. Enjoy. Mark (21 years ago, 6-May-05, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

  Re: Warhammer IIIA

(...) Thanks Marco. I just try to keep it fun. But yeah, you're right. I really don't try to make it look like anything. I prefer to keep it origional and keep the cannon folks at bay. (...) Those are used for cores in the spiral staircases, like (...) (21 years ago, 6-May-05, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

Re: Nominations for a trainset poll

(...) I'm not saying it has to be 6-wide :-) For the AFOL market, Tim's suggestion of UCS trains might work. An engine as large as a Challenger or Big-Boy is already too big for the popular market, so why not do it properly to the scale of the (...) (21 years ago, 6-May-05, to lugnet.trains, FTX)

Re: 8 Wide LEGO Thomas! (pics)

(...) Works for me. I actually thought about doing that when I saw them in the prerelease photos! But now that you have one in your hand, how does the size of the face compare to, say, a 4x4 radar dish? Rob (21 years ago, 6-May-05, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.duplo)

  Re: Warhammer IIIA

(...) Thank you, that means a lot. (...) yah, I have an interest in how Lego makes mecha. I think it's important because it shows us fans what kinds of restraints are on the designers. It's got to suck for them, I shudder to think what this mech (...) (21 years ago, 6-May-05, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

Re: Nominations for a trainset poll

(...) It might encourage more people to build to 8mm scale :-) Mark (21 years ago, 6-May-05, to lugnet.trains, FTX)

Re: Nominations for a trainset poll

(...) Heh - I wish I had 40 hours a week to spend on Lego! Before I got married I scraped about 15 hours a week, but that was also before I spent time in online Lego communities! Still, at least my railway trackbed is progressing OK, despite me (...) (21 years ago, 6-May-05, to lugnet.trains, FTX)

  8 Wide LEGO Thomas! (pics)

Well, my prayers have been finally answered (sorta:-) I had gotten into the habit of firing off an email to Brad Justus every 6 months or so when he was still heading up LEGO Direct begging for TLG to get a license for producing Thomas the Tank (...)   Re: Warhammer IIIA

(...) Absolutely stunning! I love the detail on this mech. The use of the red curved slope bricks is spot on. You've really turned building these types of mechs into an artform. On a slightly related topic, I would love to see your take on the Star (...) (21 years ago, 6-May-05, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)

  Re: Vampire Bat

(...) Very cool, Mark. It's greebtasticalicious. I particularly like the antennae pointing in various directions and the engines. You interior is cool too, except for that freak in the pilot's seat. (2 URLs) Tony Hafner (URL) www.hafhead.com> (21 years ago, 6-May-05, to lugnet.space, FTX)

  Re: color and number

(...) I'm not sure what you mean by color and number. If you are looking for fan part numbers (which may not be the 'official' numbers used by the Lego corp), then my Visual Wheel Helper shows those: (URL) you are looking for Color Numbers as used (...) (21 years ago, 6-May-05, to lugnet.technic)

Re: Lego 7470 Space Shuttle Discovery STS 31

(...) I think the reference material you used may not have been accurate, it was indeed Shuttle Discovery that lofted the Hubble Space Telescope on STS-31. (URL) Kelly (21 years ago, 6-May-05, to lugnet.general)

  Re: Warhammer IIIA

(...) Hey Mark, you blow me away every time. That thing is so cool. I can see the relation to Warhammer, but it's original at the same time. What are the pieces you used for the gun barrels? I never saw them before... Just keep it up man, your doing (...) (21 years ago, 6-May-05, to lugnet.build.mecha, FTX)
