Re: Fishing for a tasty linkage/gearing/robotic building thread...

Hi Michael and everybody, I'm working on a robot (for my book) that uses a single motor to go forward and turn in place. I'm using a directional transmission, based on Michael Powell's original design: (URL) use the outputs of the directional (...) (27 years ago, 12-May-99, to lugnet.robotics)

  Re: Architectural Wonders theme

(...) I think that's a good idea, though the volume of a set for a specific niche (eg Monticello) might not be high enough to justify production. What got me thinking was that those Puzz-3D things are genuinely mass-market. _Someone_ is interested (...) (27 years ago, 12-May-99, to lugnet.dear-lego)

  Re: ZNAP in U.S.

I do not believe Znap is available yet in the States. When you go to Lego.com, and click on "Country", and check the Catalog for North America, you will see it's not in the inventory - it's only in the catalog for Europe/Africa. Confusing, as I went (...) (27 years ago, 12-May-99, to lugnet.market.buy-sell-trade)

Re: Forestman Torso was Voting Page

(...) Yes, I have all four colors:) (...) Duh, that would be true. I guess we wouldn't have to worry about running out of numbers for at least another few years :) Oh, and you gonna work on any of the Star Wars torsos?? Ryan "Build or build not. (...) (27 years ago, 13-May-99, to lugnet.cad.dev)

  Re: Request regarding "Spoilers"

(...) I had the chance to meet David Prowse 2 years ago, and I guess George was very good at screwing david over. 1) with the obvious voice over of JEJ, BTW David does a very good Vader, just as good as JEJ. 2) In ROTJ David thought that he was (...) (27 years ago, 12-May-99, to lugnet.starwars)

(...) I probably need the 3rd motor to power the program reading part of the vehicle. (27 years ago, 12-May-99, to lugnet.robotics)

Re: Piece sorting (was: building exhaustion)

(...) You need a zero-G environment with some clever way of keeping the bits in compartments that completely encapsulate you. The whole thing could seperate and come together with you inside. :-) (27 years ago, 12-May-99, to lugnet.storage)

  Re: Multitasker test script

Here it is, it is working, but is waiting for IR_MODE_HI, STOP and a non-blocking EMIT. There is a light sensor on the centre connector pad. .dp displays proximity in the LCD as DEFCON.RawLight alternating with the average ambient raw light sensor (...)   Re: Fishing for a tasty linkage/gearing/robotic building thread...

(...) This is very close to what I was thinking. if you lowered a plate, lifted the bot and then rotated it and then rised the plate lowering the bot. With some clever mechanics you mifgt get the lifting and rotating done with one motor. I would (...) (27 years ago, 12-May-99, to lugnet.robotics)

Re: Fishing for a tasty linkage/gearing/robotic building thread...

(...) You could use a synchro-drive type of platform. This has been mentioned on here a few times before with varying levels of complexity. Since you only need 90 degree angles then you could probably get away with synchronizing the wheel direction (...) (27 years ago, 12-May-99, to lugnet.robotics)
