Check it out at: (URL) model does need some refinement and in some areas it isn't finished, but the general shape has been defined. Help me figure out which of Karims models are on a similar scale. (...) Thanks! I've sent letters to LEGO before, and all I ever get back is a somewhat personalized form letter saying that LEGO won't accept outside ideas because of the legal issues. :( The model also uses too many pieces from too many different (...) (26 years ago, 22-Mar-99, to lugnet.starwars)

Just a suggestion but you could mount a Hall effect sensor somewhere near a rotating rounded part on the cage and glue a small piece of magnet to the rounded part. You could look for the pulse on a digital input. This way it would not add much (...) (26 years ago, 22-Mar-99, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)
