(...) Each increment up to 1700 or so is 10 bytes. The firmware binary image is exactly 16K counting the zero padding at the end. If you use firmdl.c, you don't send the zero bytes at the end, and you end up downloading around 15.5K. I don't know (...) (27 years ago, 7-Jan-99, to lugnet.robotics)

I've given a bit of thought to the line of sight prob with the IR receiver on the RCX and have come up with an idea that should help, as long as the RCX and the IR tower have line of sight, no matter which direction the RCX is facing.
