We were at Santa's Village today, and I got this set because it was pre-'98, and it was the only LEGO SYSTEM set in the gift shop. It was $6.99 Canadian, which gives it an obvious con- this thing has the highest cost per piece of anything ever (...) (26 years ago, 6-Aug-00, to lugnet.reviews)

I think Lego is just trying to cut corners and save money. They are aimed at the younger audience, and all they do is get their parents to buy the latest hyped up theme. (...) At least they don't jack up their prices above retail, or put non outlet stores in outlet malls, both KB tricks.
