Re: New 9V Digital Trains for Germany this Autumn

Hi everybody, please read the message below I rarely watch this group But i am amazed by the pictures, but the following things puzzle me 1. Since when those DB stickers come back? I thought they belong to the 12V not to 9V 2. Look at 4450 Right at (...) (26 years ago, 31-Mar-00, to lugnet.general) !

Re: How does one become a "Guild of Bricksmiths(tm)" member?

(...) We'll take it under advisement. Right now the process is by invite only, although I can see it ought to be a discussion topic on our internal list. Being a Guild member is a heavy burden and confers no special discounts. ++Lar (26 years ago, 31-Mar-00, to lugnet.market.buy-sell-trade, lugnet.market.theory)

Re: New 9V Digital Trains for Germany this Autumn

Awe man, good call! Yep, forget it. It is a hoax (April fools joke, as someone pointed out). And it's probably one of the best I've seen. The telltale sign for me is that you can see the around the edges of the text and models, where the images were (...) (26 years ago, 31-Mar-00, to lugnet.general)

Re: April 1st sometime in the world ... ? (Re: New Trains)

(...) I was thinking this, too. Lego now uses the "<-o->" symbol. Not to mention that the stickers are poorly applied, and Lego doesn't even use stickers for the door symbols anymore (I think, they didn't with 4558). (...) Right, too much (...) (26 years ago, 31-Mar-00, to lugnet.trains) !

Re: April 1st sometime in the world ... ? (Re: New Trains)

(...) Too many things point to it being a hoax, IMO. Also, While the quality is low, whoever made it, tried to make it as real as possible. The Train Logo is way too clear, while the Lego Logo is way too fuzzy... Jeff (26 years ago, 31-Mar-00, to lugnet.trains) !

  I'm Falling Apart!

Hi. Does anyone have an idea for keeping the lego pieces together without glueing them for good? Some of my designs fall apart where there are only a few "holes and stems" holding them together. Thanks. (26 years ago, 31-Mar-00, to lugnet.robotics)

(...) Huh?? Lugnet lists it as "3943" We've still got another day or two to go... Jeff P.S. Are you looking at the combined castle and castle.org.cw list? (26 years ago, 31-Mar-00, to lugnet.castle)

These are compelling arguments... :( And here I was thinking of auctioning all my 12V track and trafos to be able to but this stuff in the fall... Maybe we're spending too much time on the quality of the graphics. Lets look at the sets themselves. Where would those wheels on the 4460 and the gray wheels on the 4432. And the doors and windows on the passenger cars on the 4450? Those are awesome (...) (26 years ago, 31-Mar-00, to lugnet.trains) !

I'd also have to question the description of set 4479: "Güterwaggons 2 offenen und 2 gedeckte Frachtwaggons mit Lademeistern" My German might be a little rusty, but the plural of open in this particular case is "offene" and not "offenen" I'm still (...)   Re: April 1st sometime in the world ... ? (Re: New Trains)

(...) It looks like 4450 and 4460 use the same motor to me. Looks like the new motor has two small wheels and 4 large spoked ones. I did a quick look through the train sets, and unless I missed something, I don't see a white/blue split color train (...) (26 years ago, 31-Mar-00, to lugnet.trains)

(...) Feel free to call me gullible, but I believe this is real. The layout of the ads are different than what we are used to, but I would attribute that to it being a Deutsche Bahn promotion catalogue, or something to that effect. At least the text (...)
