I spotted the following story in yesterday's AFP news wire feed, hopefully it'll be of interest to someone out there? (Note that I've reworded things to avoid copyright infringement.) Marco: You are correct that Halcon is a commercial offering. I understand that it is very highly regarded. One of the Premier offerings in the arena of Machine Vision is NIH Image, which is(or was) in the public domain. You can find it at: (URL) (...) (26 years ago, 4-Feb-00, to lugnet.robotics)
