They are not really that hard to do. So I would say there is no need for to
buy them off ebay. It does cost alittle to buy supplies at first.
I will try to explain the best that I can on the methods that I used in
painting these figures.
The first thing that you have to do is get the old paint off the figs. I do
this by soaking them over nite in pinesol and then using a tooth brush to
scrub off the paint. Sometimes it does take alot of scrubbing but it really
gets the paint off nicely without scratches that you get from an exacto
knife. The only down side is that like I said it does take some scrubing on
newer figs but on older ones it usually comes right off.
Next I try to stay to the solid color of the brick painting only details on
top. Before you start painting make sure to wash the fig in warm water with
dish soap. This gets off oils that get on the bricks. After washing make
sure to be careful how you handle them because oils from your hands may get on
the brick. After you let them dry you can start painting. I have tried just
about every paint and marker there is and going from what Craig Hamilton

site I tried Marvy markers and pens. They really give you good detail. I
also use a drafting tech pen which gives you really fine lines as well. I
also like Hunt painters markers. All I can say is try them out and see what
is best for you. After painting I put a clear gloss coat (testors spray)
which helps to seal the paint. I have not had any trouble to this date with
the paint or ink smearing or chipping. Like Craig mentions on his site tho,
try to avoid painting around joints.
I hope that helps to give you some answers. I still think that I can improve
on my details but I do think that my figs are getting better each time.
