Hi, I've made my first "polished" Lego movie and am submitting it for the
pleasure of Lugnetters.  It's a teaser for a longer project yet to come, and
is 49 seconds in length.  I haven't added any music or sound effects...I may
do so later.  Filesize is about 14 MB...when I get my Lego site up, I'll
have smaller versions for modem users.

Technical details:
Stop-motion camera: Olympus C3000 Zoom
Video camera: Olympus C3000 Zoom (great camera, eh!)
Set: 32x32 space baseplate, blue-screen backdrop
Digital editing/compositing software: Adobe Premiere
Additional graphics: Adobe Photoshop
Additional animation: Macromedia Flash

Well done!  It makes me want to see more, like a teaser should.  But if
you put work into a long project, sound would be good.

I had some trouble viewing it though,  I couldn't get it to go at all
using the link, so I saved the file to my computer.  Opening it from my
hardrive, I could view the 'Hidden Fortress' intro but then at 3 seconds,
during the transition, it caught and Windows Media Player quit working.  I
manually placed it at 4 seconds into the movie and I could view it just fine
from there.

Hmm.... I also had a problem with this avi, although unlike Nathan it
apparently had much more severe problems. I downloaded it with MSIE and
Netscape, and each succeeded in crashing the program when it was done
downloading and tried to play. I then tried Nathan's approach and saved it
to my hard drive, and tried to play using media player, which would play 49
seconds of a black screen, and instantly crash the program as soon as any
button was clicked. I tried to "fast forward" it to the after 3 second mark
as Nathan did, but unfortunately it INSISTED on starting to play the avi as
soon as it was loaded, whereupon any action would crash the program.

Anyway, you might want to look at recompiling/re-ftping the avi? I dunno...

I viewed it fine with the ol' Quicktime plugin, but there are some breaks in
the frames here and there... maybe a different codec?

Other than that, it looks like a lot of fun :^)

I'm sorry about the difficulties some people seem to be having with the
player.  I'm just using the old Windows 98 avi player, and have no trouble.
I'm re-exporting it with a different codec right now and will have it up
shortly.
