- About this model
Since I enjoy building Steampunk
and have been heavily influenced by the Girl Genius series, Ive been thinking
about a Lego zeppelin for a long time. I have seen several good models 2,3 in
my search for a method of building one satisfactorily. Ive even seen what other
people are doing with the the official lego
zeppelin
body 4. The beginning of the end came
a few months ago with the acquisition of the Aero Nomad and my girlfriends
purchase of Knockturn Alley where I found out about the bay windows.
The crew is housed both within the body of the zeppelin with the pilot and
navigator in the gondola. There are two manned aircraft which have parking in
and on the zeppelin body as well as a small ROV operated from the forward crew
position. The landing gear is articulated and weight bearing and the lower
engines rotate to assist in controlling altitude.
There is a lot of SNOT work in the construction and in places quite a bit rests
on two studs. Remarkably, it is still quite strong. This model will be at BF DC
in the space room.
Please let me know what you think.

| (...) snip Hey, I like the cockpit on the bottom, cool shape, and nice use of that canopy. I also like the engines. I am not a fan of the octagonal body, or prefab pieces, but I do really like the way that you fit a small plane into the space left (...) (20 years ago, 9-Aug-04, to lugnet.space, FTX)

| DANZ! The long awaited Zeppelin. I've got two different takes on this. One side - it looks extremely playable and lots of fun - two different flying things come out, you have the refueling station and lots of places for figs to hang out and do (...) (20 years ago, 9-Aug-04, to lugnet.space, FTX)

| (...) Hi Dan Great MOC! I think the detail is really interesting, what with the winching and cables, etc, underneath. My favourite part(s) has to be the engine(s)/props, they really look good. Must admit, Like Lenny, I am missing the hydrogen (...) (20 years ago, 10-Aug-04, to lugnet.space, lugnet.adventurers, FTX)

| Dans, this is a nice moc. I agree with Lenny that the colors throw off the zepellin a little bit, but if it tickles your pickle, then keep right on doing what you're doing. I really like the prop engines, and the playability of the whole setup looks (...) (20 years ago, 11-Aug-04, to lugnet.space, FTX)
