I've finally escaped my cubism (to a certain extent anyway).  I've had the
idea for this ship rolling around my head for quite some time.  After some
quick planning i started building (planning on creating the interior as i
went), but overanxious as usual, i just kept building the hull (then
planning to go back and do the interiors), but alas i think i'm done
(although the interior isn't).

I got the idea from the game Homeworld, although Cygnus is not as large as
the Mothership in Homeworld it's still rather large at 13 Levels and 132
bricks tall.

Hope you enjoy,

p.s. I've updated my Lego page (still pretty bland but)...

(...) Sweet, I guess this means you are running low on grey. :-) I really like the detail of the interior design. How much does it weigh? Jude (22 years ago, 5-Jan-03, to lugnet.space)

Sweet Mother of Pearl! You had something that size rolling around in your head. So what defines "quick planning"? 1 maybe 2 hours? lol. In all seriousness that is a cool looking ship. I thought it resembled the ship from homeworld. Good job, keep up (...) (22 years ago, 5-Jan-03, to lugnet.space)

Wow. I really like the simple streamlined shape of this ship. I always find myself thinking in X and Y - I always neglect to conceptualize in Z. Really sweet. The exterior is very cool yet extremely simple. No flashy details is a good thing on this (...) (22 years ago, 5-Jan-03, to lugnet.space)

Wow. That is a great combo of sculpting and traditional building....what an interesting shape. I've never seen anything from Homeworld, but a few builders here seem to derive some inspiration from it...have to check it out. I am particuliarly (...) (22 years ago, 5-Jan-03, to lugnet.space)

That's a very unique shape. The interioir rocks, especially the bridge. I love the bridge... the seats and the railing and the tiles on the floor all make for an exceptional bridge. And the beds are really very nice, as well. Very cool! -JHK (...) (22 years ago, 5-Jan-03, to lugnet.space)

(...) your first BS gallery a different model that is equally cool? I like the style you build in, very atypical for ships-of-the-brick, and yet so very sci-fi. Two things that jumped at me as nifty: 1) your skill at making your ships look eye (...) (22 years ago, 6-Jan-03, to lugnet.space)

(...) Jeb, Damn Spiffy! This ship has the rare quality of looking as though it must stay in orbit; most ships look like A2V-type (atmosphere-to-vaccuum) ships. Very unique! I like the spacebound look, your details are way cool, and the overall (...) (22 years ago, 8-Jan-03, to lugnet.space)
