howD all,
As per these posts,

http://news.lugnet.com/space/?n=10458
http://news.lugnet.com/space/?n=10053
http://news.lugnet.com/space/?n=10386

and of course my own ButtBuster and Hopper,

I've decided to host another contest :-D
here's the rules:

--------------------------------------------------------
Et in Arcadia Lego HoverThing Contest
--------------------------------------------------------

Hoverbikes, small speeders, etc. etc.

-------------
Contest Rules
-------------

* Contest entries will be accepted from Saturday, August 11
to 12am (00:00) Saturday, October 27.

* Email all entries to panarchy23@yahoo.com.

* Entries must be in the form of a .jpg photo,
even if they're done in LCAD.

* Entries and Results will appear on "Et in Arcadia Lego"

* Please take multiple views of your model if you want me
to be able to judge it fairly.

* The Basics:
     1) less than 30 studs long (antennae can go outside of the 'box')

     2) less than 20 studs wide (had to say it, otherwise, well y'know...)

     3) canopies must open (i.e. no 'glass' that encloses the fig(s))

     4) multiple submissions allowed (make a bunch)

* As usual, stick w/ the theme...
If I feel that the rules are being unduly circumvented by your ship,
then it will be disqualified.

* No Movie/TV stuff. (same as before).

* Grand Prize goes to the winner (most points)

* Minifig only. obv.

* New MOCs only.  MOC's less than 1 month old qualify.

-----------------------

Contest Judging:

* Judging will not begin until the competition deadline.

* MOCs will get points per criteria, averaged to yield a total score

* everybody who enters gets a free point: score of 1     :-)

* 33 points will be allocated for overall design/shape (not
color).  Interesting designs, use of hard to use parts in the design, etc.

* 33 points will be allocated for detail.

* 33 points will be allocated for colorscheme.

* Better pics make it easier to judge

Storyline won't be a big factor in this contest, either,
however,
it sure makes the presentation a lot more fun, so, Go for it!!

------------------------------------------------------------------------

:-D

Here's my first entry, the "Astro-Pumpkin".  I thought I'd try to use some
obscure colors, and the Artctic orange vehicle-nose piece jumped out at me, so
I used orange and black.  The name was an obvious choice based on the color
scheme.

Hah!  Another orange hoverthing!  I built one last night, but didn't have
the time to take pictures, and now you've beaten me to it!  Curses.  Oh
well, I'll still post it as I really like the little thing.  Mine's orange
and white though, not orange and black.

I reorganized my Brickshelf area, so the URL for this is changed.  The new URL
is:
