All,

I've just finished updating the pbForth webiste with
information on the latest version of pbForth that supports
DCC. Yay!

Yes, you can use Mark Riley's excellent train control
firmware, but if you want to write code that starts and stops
trains based on sensors you needed to use BrickOS - until now.

Robotics folks like Eric Sophie might appreciate that a single
RCX and a honking big power supply could control
8 to 16 motors quite easily. I've got plans for a
DCC power booster in the works...

Past users of pbForth might appreciate that the GUI is now
one executable file (950K) that you can download and run
right away. No more messing with Tcl installations.

Also, Windows users get USB and Serial tower support. Linux
and Mac users still need to have Tcl installed and only get
serial tower support.

The pbForth main page is here:

And a very short tutorial on DCC with pbForth is here:

A complete list of tutorials for pbForth is here:

Please give this a try if you're inclined to have more control over
your trains, or if you need to control LOTS ov motors with your RCX.

If there's enough interest, I could be convinced to come to the PDX
to give a session on using pbForth in general, with DCC applications.

Cheers, Ralph
