Legoland California is now selling two pirate themed items to commemorate the
opening of their new pirate themed area. A large detailed pirate about a foot
tall with a parrot on the sholder that is sold as a glued model, and a small
circa 50 piece kit sold in limited edition (500 available) which allows you to
do a miniscale pirate holding a parrot using small plates and connectors. The
mini is free standing and quite clever, using round one stud plates to represent
an eyepatch on the pirate and a feather on the hat, and connector links to
create the image of old style pantaloons. And the parrot is remarkably clever.
