Ah! I was just about to inquire on the status of the Medieval BW game..
I'm always up for meetings, and am available both Tues and Thurs.

Hmmm, this is my subtle cue to get off my duff and give an update. I
received an e-mail earlier this week from Jorge - if people are still
itnerested (and I know that Jorge, myself, and Dave Eaton are) he was
thinking about June 30th as a day to have a medieval battle. Are people
still up for this? If so, I guess we can confirm our reservations and give
everybody as much time as possible to get ready ...
Sometimes, I just need a little kick.
As for a regular meeting - always interested! Thursdays are bad for me,
everything else is doable, I think.

I think this should work for me. I have to check though.

How about a meeting on the 25th where we can "score" our Brikwars soldiers and
equipment. I am ok with next week for a meeting but I thought the 25th would
give more time to build for Brikwars and if we can score them at a meeting we
have a lot more time to battle and it is probably easier than a mundane like me
E-mailing Shaun or Eric constantly to help with scoring.
I would still like to do a large trebuchet but I don't think I could do it for
a meeting next week.

I like the idea of meeting beforehand to give anyone else a chance to score
stuff they have questions about... also gives you a chance to preview the
opposing forces! >:)
Oh, and anyone who needs extra forces (if you're short on Castle figs)-- I
can cover you with pre-built figs (including champions, heros, etc)... And
maybe some ballistas or something extra to boot :) [I love to overdo castle :)]
<switching gears>
As for scoring troops, I've recently been working on a little script to
score troops-- It's not finished yet, although the basics work so far. It
makes for a nice little printout page complete with total CP, total MP, AV,
Skill, etc-- just a simple form:
http://www.suave.net/~dave/bw.cgi
It doesn't yet cover things like CC skill/damage versus Ranged skill/damage,
increased/decreased UR for things like a crossbow depending on # of hands
wielded with, etc (it also needs to list stupendous feats), but the basics
are working...
I emailed Mike about it yesterday (along with a throng of questions) but
haven't heard back from him... Anyway just click a tek level, fill out the
form, then click "Get Stats" and it'll give you a nice little score sheet
for your troops... It won't help much for VEHICLES, etc, but for a TL 2 game
(like this upcoming one) it'll work. It also assumes that you kinda know the
rules already, or at least have them alongside you-- it's more-or-less just
something to tally and record all your numbers for you nicely... 'course
since I'm the only one who showed up with handwritten sheets each time,
maybe I just needed it the most :)
Anyway, feel free to be my beta-testers :) I'll most likely finish it up
this week and post it to lugnet.fun.gaming... but any input is welcome...

Personally I would love it if we could have a meeting on Tuesday the 19th.
I actually have stuff to show and I'm gonna be out of town the week after.
I know it's selfish of me but I'm really anxious to attend a meeting because
I wasn't able to make it to the last one even though I had planned on it.
Regarding the brikwars game . . . I'm interested! I have a ton of Ninja
stuff if any body needs some additional units. 150 on foot and another 50
mounted.

p.s. when is the steampunk game supposed to happen?

D'oh, I can't make Tuesday. Any chance of it being Wednesday instead?
And Double-D'oh! I have something else going on the 30th, so I'm out of yet
another NELUG-BW game. [I'm actually showing BrikWars to some friends that
day, so it's not a total bust]. But I really want to be in on the Steampunk
game-whenever that is [Hell, I just want to be on the next game].

sounds good to me, especially as I've never done this before.

I plan to do some heavy duty landscaping work. Giant trees and a cliff
or something. Send me any requests!

Well, As Shaun and Eric J can explain, it takes some time to get on
Mike's 'quick response' list. heh-heh-heh.
for Shaun: (..funny I was just talking to him last night- or was that
this morning?)

Dave, that's really groovy!
Are you going to add the ability to show mulitple troopers on a page (to
make printing more convient)? And how about adding the total amount of CP
for an army? It would be neat if you had -say- a box that's checked to "Add
or Not Add This Unit to the Total CP" (or something to that effect), then
you could adjust your forces' totals on the fly.

I thought about that, actually-- funnily enough when explaining it to my
friend today at lunch he said that'd be what he'd want from it... Not sure
at this point if I will add that or not, mostly just cuz it has the
potential to get complicated (editing previous characters, etc). For now I
just want to polish off the wierd exception clauses (explosion damage, close
combat bonuses, auto-fire UR, thrown ranges, max damages, etc) and make it
look a little prettier... But maybe if I have time next week I'll try
setting it up to deal with armies, etc...
Now all I need is to deal with vehicles! :) But they may be easier, come to
think of it... I'm not sure... Anyway, maybe someday :)

I'm interested! I can even bring my own fodder - I mean troops - this time.
Did somebody set how many CP we're allowed?
As for meeting, I can more or less try to make anything, although Tuesdays
tend to be hard. The 25th sounds the best to me.

A date for the steampunk game hasn't been set yet, mostly because we figured
that people would need plenty of time to plan and build their armies for it.
So, uh... I'm not sure? When do people think they would be ready for it?
I'll start the bidding at "the end of July sometime". I'm in a class that's
sucking up a lot of (what would otherwise be) free time.

About the meeting any day but Thursdays...
