  Next Chicago Lego Builders Meeting?

On the (URL) yahoo group>, we were talking about the date for the next meeting. We sorta found that the third Saturday of the month worked for the majority. November 20th would be the date for the next meeting. The last meeting was at the Downer's (...) (20 years ago, 27-Oct-04, to lugnet.org.us.clb, lugnet.loc.us.il.chi, FTX)

Chicago LEGO Builders Meeting @ Downers Grove Public Library

We have a location now! Sorry about the short notice, we haven't gotten all the kinks out in our planning system yet. Who? The Chicago LEGO Builders (CLB). We are a fledgling club, right now looking just to hang out with other lego enthusiasts, (...)   meeting on Saturday?

The 16th is less than a week away -- will there be a meeting? Seems like a good time to be hammering out the details. I'm not sure yet whether I'll be able to make it this Saturday, but it looks promising at this point... - Joe (20 years ago, 11-Oct-04, to lugnet.org.us.clb)

  Re: BrickQuest, anyone?

(...) Cool! (...) Yes, I was thinking that when I looked at the pictures on brickquest.org. I was thinking low walls, 2 or 3 bricks high, would work much better. (...) Hmm, that's a good point. Though building fun could also be had by making more (...) (20 years ago, 18-Sep-04, to lugnet.org.us.clb)

  Re: BrickQuest, anyone?

(...) I might be convinced to drive out there for a session--not necessarily to run, but at least join in. One word of warning regarding everyone building their own modules... I discovered at GenCon 2003 that building up walls on all sides made (...) (20 years ago, 17-Sep-04, to lugnet.org.us.clb)

  Re: BrickQuest, anyone?

(...) I haven't played BrikWars yet, but BrickQuest can be quick, depending on the size of the dungeon. I know Peter typically runs 2hr sessions at GenCon and other gaming conventions. I would be very interested in playing BrickQuest at a CLB (...) (20 years ago, 17-Sep-04, to lugnet.org.us.clb, FTX)

  BrickQuest, anyone?

I just discovered BrickQuest, and glanced through the rules. Looks like fun, and probably a bit quicker than BrikWars (which also sounds like fun). Would anyone here be interested in playing a BrickQuest game some CLB meeting? The chief problem I (...) (20 years ago, 17-Sep-04, to lugnet.org.us.clb)

  Witch's Abode

If the town witch lived in town, and not in some hovel outside of town in the haunted forest, what would her house look like?   Re: Pick-a-Brick inventories?

(...) I don't think the intent is to keep current inventories of every one. But rather, when one of us happens to be visiting a LEGO store anyway, we take a few extra minutes to jot down what they have and type it up when we get home. This doesn't (...)   Re: Pick-a-Brick inventories?

(...) Now that there are so many PAB, with apparently more on the way, I wonder if it is even feasible to keep current inventories of every one? I think it's great that these inventories exist and I peruse them whenever I know I am going somewhere (...) (20 years ago, 7-Sep-04, to lugnet.org.us.clb, lugnet.inv, FTX)

  Re: Pick-a-Brick inventories?

(...) The topic of PaB inventory has come up before and other sites are keeping track as well. Brickish.org is keeping track of some here: (URL) And eventually, (URL) PabTrak.com> is supposed to have info on all stores. There was (URL) some (...)   Re: Pick-a-Brick inventories?

(...) All right -- next time I go (and don't have my four-year-old waiting on me), I'll take a pad and pen and jot down what they have. If anyone else makes it to one of our LEGO stores, perhaps you can do the same. For starters, I suppose we can (...) (20 years ago, 7-Sep-04, to lugnet.org.us.clb)

Re: Chicago LEGO Builders Meeting @ Woodridge Public Library

(...) Has anyone seen my thunder? I know I had it around here somewhere. Huh. :P Jason Spears | (URL) BrickCentral> | (URL) MichLUG> | (URL) CLB> (20 years ago, 7-Sep-04, to lugnet.org.us.clb, lugnet.off-topic.fun, FTX)

  Re: Pick-a-Brick inventories?

(...) The downtown store must have expanded their selection. I was last there in February and it wasn't that impressive. (That was the only time I visited a LEGO store with PaB and didn't buy anything.) If they are better, cool, I'll have to stop by (...) (20 years ago, 7-Sep-04, to lugnet.org.us.clb, FTX)

  Pick-a-Brick inventories?

On the recommendation of y'all at the meeting on Sunday, I visited the Woodfield mall yesterday. Its LEGO store is quite nice (though oddly, it's not on the mall directory). I think it's pick-a-brick selection isn't quite as large as the one (...) (20 years ago, 7-Sep-04, to lugnet.org.us.clb)

Re: Chicago LEGO Builders Meeting @ Woodridge Public Library

(...) It was really great for me to meet these other AFOLs. I pointed out at the meeting that before that day, I had never met anyone more into LEGO than me -- ever. Now there was a whole room full of them! Jason brought a witch's hut he had just (...) (20 years ago, 7-Sep-04, to lugnet.org.us.clb)

Re: Chicago LEGO Builders Meeting @ Woodridge Public Library

Cool idea! I am from Wisconsin, and I know of no Lego club or group meetings in this area. Tell us how many showed up, and if there will be a future meeting with more of an advanced notice. Maybe someday we can have a BrickFest-type event in the (...) (20 years ago, 7-Sep-04, to lugnet.org.us.clb, FTX)

Chicago LEGO Builders Meeting @ Woodridge Public Library

We have a location now! Who? The Chicago LEGO Builders (CLB).   Re: Chicago LEGO Builders Meeting

(...) No, to be clear: $250 is just the minimum total of the bill, which is for your food and drinks. If we buy $260 of food and drink then the room is free; but if we each buy a soda totalling $10, then they're going to charge us $250 anyway. Now, (...)
