Good afternoon,
Ive been posting a bit, every now and then with my work email, so I thought Id
introduce myself. My name is Brian Gefrich, and Im the Team Lead at the LEGO
Outlet at Potomac Mills, Virginia. Ive been with Brand Retail for about six
months now, however, my love of LEGO has been around for much, much longer.
While Im not quite old enough to remember some of the classic space sets (such
as 497 - the Galaxy Explorer I love so much now), Id still have to say that Im
a spacer at heart. Most of what I post here will be non-work related, mostly my
Joe Meno-inspired MOCs, and wont have the spiffy little LEGO logo by my name.
Ill only be making official posts regarding things related to our store, i.e.
sales, new items, etc., and these will mostly come by request, if people want to
know.
Outside of work, Ive been steadily rebuilding my collection of LEGO since the
end of my dark age. Although not yet a member, Ive been attending WAMALUG
meetings and have gotten a lot of good feedback from them regarding the store.
I look forward to Brickfest this year, although my manager has assured me that
my presence will be required at work for a majority of the event. ;)
Of course, as a disclaimer, theres no reason why official LEGO statements or
policies would come through me to be posted here, so my posts are mine alone,
and not the opinions or views of LEGO Brand Retail.
I look forward to some good discussion, getting around to showing off some of my
work, and maybe seeing some of you in Woodbridge.
Thanks,
Brian P. Gefrich

Hey Brian!
Luckily, the list of LEGO employees posting here seems to be growing. Which I
think is good. Ive heard that there are some long-time employees from the Mall
of America store posting, the new stores in Chicago and New Jersey have a few
posters, and the Georgia outlet store has somebody and Ive even heard some
trainers might show up once and a while. Just what I heard though. :)
I want a LEGO logo next to my name!

Havent seen too many other people that I know on here yet, but Im glad to hear
that they are involved. I try to pass the word around about LUGNET and AFOLs in
general to anyone who suggests that they couldnt possibly take a few minutes
out of their shopping day to play.

It gets you emails from Jake McKee, but you always have to be careful when you
use it.

It was my understanding that this is driven by the system recognising that you
work for LEGO, its not just a cool piece of gadgetry. :-)
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Does the Potomac Mills store have Pick-a-Brick, and if not will it be getting it
in time for Brickfest in August? The Capitol Building has seen better days, so
if it was removed, that would leave a decent space for the P.A.B.
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | The Capitol has already been removed - no word yet on PaB

The Capital has indeed been moved to LEGOLAND in Germany, however, the jury is
still out I believe on how exactly PAB would be implemented in our store. One
thing is that we have gone to yellow shirts now and should be seeing an upgrade
in fittings and decor soon.
