Is there going to be no SW2001 in NZ? Can't believe this! Are the new SW sets already available?

July - LEGO, Dinosaurs

LEGO SYSTEM Dino Developer

Hey, this sounds really promising!! I just hope it won't be ZNAP-like....

August - LEGO, Jack Stone

It seems to be rather some rescue-splitoff than connected to Johnny Thunder...

October - LEGO, Harry Potter
4701 to 4709
$NZ 20 to $NZ280

Will this be a theme within the System line (with regular minifigs) or some Bellevillesque or Creator-like stuff?

I'm already curious....

thanks for the info

Any ideas who this Jack Stone guy is?

Some sort of action hero/law enforcer/fireman, judging by the set names.

These haven't been mentioned or shown in the LugDB because they were in
neither the US or German catalogues. However we saw last year Lego switching
to a two catalogues a year system (no advernturers, mickey, big technic, big
starwars etc in the first). I guess lego has it's reasons for doing this,
buggered if I know what they are though.
Short story? the set are probably genuine, hang about for more info middle
of the yearish (read september for Australia)

James (who is unimpressed with Lego's ablity to disseminate information
about it's own company structure, let alone the (paying) public.)

But I will most probably still get some LOM from the States quicker than
Lego will have these kits in Australia.
I purchased 2 just on Xmas and paid probably as much as what they will cost
when they finally arrive here.
Lom surfaced in the US about Sept/Oct and it is very annoying as to the time
Lego takes to bring these new items to us in Australia.
Sorry if I am neg and having a winge but I am tired of seeing the empty
shelves in most of our toy stores in Brisbane.

No worries, you're right about being able to get sets from the states at a
comparable price much earlier, (although it was Nov/Dec we saw LoM) that's
one of the drawbacks about living in Australia. However, there are points to
remember about shopping in Jan. Most stores are about to do/ just have done
stocktake. They're not ordering in anything much at all, let alone lego.
There have been a round of Stocktake sales, removing stock from
christmas-emptied shelves and finally, Lego Australia is still waiting for
it's first quater shipment from Denmark, before stores get 2001 line stock.
Sure it looks dire at the moment, but give it a six months and we'll be
having 25-50% off half yearlys where they dig out the stockrooms and sell
almost everything one might want (or need).

James (who, though he hates his retail job, find it pays for bricks.)

According to the breaking news on 1000steine.de, the new releases have also been confirmed for Germany at a German Lego seller's
meeting in Dortmund, with some additional details:

July - LEGO Technic, Bionicles

will have new figs and new vehicles

July - LEGO, Dinosaurs

will NOT feature new adventurers sets, but will be a new line to build dinosaurs from flexible elements (ZNAP-like? I have no
details here).

August - LEGO, Jack Stone

This will be A NEW ADVENTURERS series, obviously with a new guy named Jack Stone

September - LEGO Duplo, Bob the Builder
October - LEGO, Harry Potter

This new line will have 11 sets, 8 for boys and 3 for girls, whatever this means....

The original posting in German you will find here:

It would certainly be helpful if someone could translate this into English
as the German post seems to address the scale and type of the Harry Potter
figures.

From the altavista translator thingy (admittedly not the most airtight system):

Hallihallo to all!

I received, announced even ones from Mikel a few pieces of news to the LEGO
program at a specialized trade meeting of LEGO in Dortmund.

Nevertheless is ALL SPECIFICATION WITHOUT GUARANTEE and NOT OFFICIAL!

1. - The problem of the being omitted basic series is to have been detected
and one for back-up would strive: Boxes with basic elements, roof stones, disks

2. - Harry Potter is to appear in October 2001, eleven sets, of it eight for
boy, three for girls

3. - There is to be an adventure series with a main figure named Jack Stone

4. - BIONICLE is to be developed, new vehicles and figures

5. - Dino - apparent a new system, with which one can build Dinos from
flexible sections, is to be expanded possibly since other animals.

6. - Both 1000steine.de, and particularly this forum, were well-known on the
fair.

I consider very good messages and look forward personal to Harry Potter
(hopefully with castle combinably)

ASK: No further inquiries by Mail, more is also not well-known me!

No, it doesn't. I guess we'll have to wait for the Nuremberg toy fair in February for further details...
