NWBrickCon ended this evening and it was a great event.  Watch for more details
from others, but here are some highlights from the main room:

1.  A giant, 30 foot long castle display.  This is the largest castle display I
have seen at any con, period.  It had it all.  Watch for more on this topic.
2.  Another enormous moonbase-- at least 30 foot long as well-- with all the
usual shenanigans and the popular canyon area.
3.  A great ball contraption and MINDSTORMS area.
4.  The debut of a mecha-city with lots of sweet MOCS.  Looked to be the start
of a new modular standard.
5.  Steampunk had a nice turnout with one humongous ship.
6.  Wayne Hussey revealed a life-sized totem pole.
7.  Trains were once again strong with lots of rare and new color schemes
appearing in the layout.  Among the city-scape highlights was Bill Volbrecht's
Maersk building.
8.  Justin Major put on a great micro show with lots of the usual favorites and
a few moonbase modules.
9.  An outstanding pyramid model built to Minifig scale.
10. I believe it was Seattle local Lino and Paul of Canada who displayed a dozen
or so Miniland scale hot rods that were incredible.
11.  Bill Volbrecht seemed to own the sculputure area with great sculptures of
Mickey, Mario, The Tasmanian devil and a penguin.

It was great to see everyone once again and thanks to the NWBrickCon Scope
committee and Wayne Hussey for putting on a nice show.

As always there are fresh and exciting MOCs in both new and existing catagories. The public were overly impressed (as usual). But what keeps me coming back to LEGO AFOL events are the people; the reunion-like atmosphere of the AFOLs and the amazed (...) (18 years ago, 12-Oct-06, to lugnet.events.nwbrickcon)
