I am not sure that instructions scans would hurt their business.
They dont sell instructions (though you might want to argue that are part of
the set inventory I suppose)
How would it hurt their business?
1. People making up the sets from the instructions using parts from other sets
and then sell them? Where is the economic sense in that? They are current sets
remember.
2. People selling prints of the instructions?
3. People not buying the sets, cause they can get the instructions?? but many
sets have specific parts anyway. you buy them for the parts not the
instructions dont you?
Lego should fix the problem themselves by publishing the instructions on their
own site.
What about providing a service to people who lose or mangle the instructions,
or acquire them without?
Isnt that why sites like Kevins exist, but lego cant seem to be bothered to
offer the service themselves?
We have sets from the days when my kids were young abd didnt bother to keep
the boxes and mangled the instructions. This can happen to new sets, not old
stuff. I would like to have been able to get a copy via the internet.
