I'm interested in making some half-timbered houses for my village.  What
currently available sets have the best distribution of brown 1xn plates?
I'm having a really hard time finding any...

Thanks,

Chris

I went through this. Search for Brown 1x in news.

Think Star Wars. Think Droid Fighter. If you can still find that in stores. Many
other Star Wars sets used basic brown parts: Naboo Swamp, Lightsaber Duel,
Desert Skiff (I use the brown railings as decorative patterns.) Get one copy of
these sets and consider what you can use. SW continues to feature brown pieces
but those are the low hanging fruit. There are some brown bits in Western sets
like Chief's Tepee. However you'll pay a lot to get very few -- it's slow going.
Try the online parts sellers of course.

Does it really have to be brown? (Yes sometimes it does...)

Of those, looks like Naboo Swamp is the best bet at 2 1x3s and 2 1x4s
for plates...  Was hoping there was something better out there.  :)

Fortunately, while looking for the new chrome sets at the local Osco
Drug (they didn't
have any) I did come across about a half dozen Naboo swamps on clearance
for $3.00.

Does it really have to be brown? (Yes sometimes it does...)

But of course!  :)

Thanks,

Chris

The MTT has 4x10's, 2x10's, as well as lots of brown bricks, tan bricks
and plates, and dark grey bricks and plates.

Not that it will help since it's a large set, but 5987 Dino Research Compound
has at least 8 brown 1x8 plates. It also has plenty of other brown bits.

Hi over there :-)

I know that this is not the right place for announcements, but this could be a
lucky coincidence for Christopher: I own the site http://www.B-O-A.de , it's
the german counterpart to AucZILLA. And I have just 5 sets of the #5987 Dino
Research. There are a total of 80 brown plates (55 1x8 plates (11 each set)).
The auctions from this set will be online in 1 or 2 days, if you want you can
keep a lookout. The 80 brown plates will start at 20,-DM (~$9).

Kind Regards, René

You got that right.  Auction announcements certainly do not belong in the
theme groups.

That's a nice selection.

Good luck with your auction, René, but of course please keep any further
announcements out of the .castle group (or any other non-auction group, for
that matter).

Hi, is there an English version of the website? I am just curious to see
what sort of things you have.
