The SteerCo and Jessiman family are pleased to announce that the James Jessiman
Memorial Award (JJMA) for 2007 will be awarded to Kevin Clague.
Kevin has been an active contributor to the LDraw movement from 2002 with
contributions of software, authoring and the organisation of LDraw.org. As the
author of many software packages including LPub for instructions and LSynth for
flexible parts his contribution to LDraw as a viable CAD system has been
immense. As a co-author of the first book on LDraw "LEGO Software Power Tools"
he has helped many people get started with LDraw. Finally as a frequent member
of the LDraw Steering and Standards Commitees he has contributed strongly behind
the scenes. Overall Kevin has stood out as a great supporter of and contributor
too LDraw and has helped build on James' legacy.

Congrats, Kevin! You certainly deserve this award with all of the efforts you've
put forth over the years. LPub and your work with flexible elements are nothing
short of revolutionary for the LDraw system, and you're a swell guy, too!

I'd like to offer my personal congratulations to Kevin too. There've been times
when I've found myself using his software far more than is natural ;)

Hi Tim,
Thanks! Hopefully the new LPub won't take nearly as much time, so you can do
more projects!

Great to hear! From a user of the tools (not an insider) I think Kevin has done
some of the most creative and inovative stuff for instruction creation!
Congrats Kevin!

Congrads!
LPub has trully allowed the masses to "create it like TLC" when it comes to
building instructions.

It was a great honor to receive the 2007 James Jessiman Award at Brickworld. It
was unfortunate the current SteerCo members were unable to attend, but you were
there in my mind.
I was especially honored to receive the award from Tim Courtney. Tims and my
relationship started out on the wrong foot, but we've both grown and I consider
Tim a good friend and a great colaborator.
My thanks to all, especially the Jessimans for this award. Its meaning is
extremely significant to me.
Humbly,
Kevin Clague

With an OK from Orion, who regrettably couldn't attend, I presented the award to
Kevin at the closing ceremonies yesterday. LDraw is core to how we communicate
and share with each other in the hobby; so I'm glad when a recipient is able to
be recognized on stage in front of peers, users, and prolific builders.
Kevin, I was especially honored to be able to present the award to you. I also
really enjoyed the times we got to chat during the event and at meals,
reminisce, and talk about possibilities for the future of LDraw tools and LEGO
CAD.
Especially after your LPub session, I'm blown away with the amount of effort
you've put in to making it easy for anyone with an LDraw/MLCad file to pump out
professional-grade building instructions. This award has been well deserved for
some time, though this year it was especially timely. I'm glad the SteerCo and
the Jessimans chose to recognize you with this.
Your friend,
Tim Courtney
