I may have posted about this before but never got around to doning anything
more.

I would be happy to make the program GPL or public domain or give it to
ldraw.org. How would this happen?. The souece code is "C" (I also ahve a perl
version). To use it you have to compile it (I am not familiar with packaging
executables)

Is there any interest in this

One interesting issue is that the program is based on the 16x32 baseplate
authored by James Jessiman) would the program be a deriviative work or the
output?. (I developed the program by taking lines from the DAT file and using
them as templates for the program.)

By the way this is not a hugh program, its only 218 lines including comments

I think that it's a good idea. There is a built-in part genereator in SimLego
too, but the parts it generates are far from today's LCad standards, and the
SimLego source code is forever lost.

A third way to go would be to write an LDraw Script (with BASIC-like syntax) and
use my compiler: http://home.swipnet.se/~w-20413/lds/lds.htm

But a standalone baseplate generator could be a great idea. Maybe you can extend
it to be able to generate 8 LDU thick plates and 24 LDU thick bricks too, to
make it really useful?
