I’m open to changing the license. (L)GPL is fine with me. I think the same
goes for the Creative Commons licenses, but I would have to take a look to make
sure.

Basically, I am interested in maybe
uploading the town to a CVS or SVN repository so that continued work can occur
in a visible and organized fashion.

A publicly visible version control repository is a very good idea. (Wouldn’t a
DVCS (like Git, Mercurial or Monotone) make more sense than a CVCS?)
