Some comments on the LPub 2.2.0.9 beta —Andreas Maier
Kevin, here are some comments on the LPub 2.2.0.9 beta. Some may also be valid for the 2.2.0.2 version but I observed all of them in the 2.2.0.9 beta version .... 1. The install program does not recognize where an earlier version was installed to. (...) (19 years ago, 27-Mar-05, to lugnet.cad)

Re: Some comments on the LPub 2.2.0.9 beta —Kevin L. Clague
(...) I have a minimal install package that came with Borland C++ Builder, and I barely know how to use it. Any education would be greatly appreciated. (...) Fair enough. (...) Max camera distance only calculates max camera distance for building (...) (19 years ago, 27-Mar-05, to lugnet.cad)

Re: Some comments on the LPub 2.2.0.9 beta —Anders Isaksson
(...) Is that InstallShield Express? In short, forget it! May I recommend the free InnoSetup by Jordan Russel? (URL) + the 3:rd party add-on IsTool beats most professional packages, and may also be used commercially. (19 years ago, 27-Mar-05, to lugnet.cad)

Re: Some comments on the LPub 2.2.0.9 beta —Orion Pobursky
(...) I have some experience with Innosetup since I use it for LDDP. As always, if you need help please ask. -Orion (19 years ago, 27-Mar-05, to lugnet.cad)

Re: Some comments on the LPub 2.2.0.9 beta —Dean Earley
(...) I recommend INNO. VERY flexible and well supported, and still being actively developed. (19 years ago, 27-Mar-05, to lugnet.cad)

Some comments on the LPub 2.2.0.9 beta —Andreas Maier
(...) <snip> (...) I don't understand how what you say relates to what I had in mind. Are we maybe talking about a different "camera viewing angle" ? I was using the word for the angle that has its center at the camera and looks towards the object. (...) (19 years ago, 28-Mar-05, to lugnet.cad)

Some comments on the LPub 2.2.0.9 beta - attachments —Andreas Maier
I sent the attachments directly to Kevin, as I did not find a way how to attach them to the posting. Andy (19 years ago, 28-Mar-05, to lugnet.cad)

Re: Some comments on the LPub 2.2.0.9 beta —Kevin L. Clague
(...) <snip> Andy, The issue with previous parts color scaling has to do with these two consecutive lines in your LDR file: STEP ROTSTEP ROTSTEP is a variant of STEP, and therefore you have redundant steps. Following the ROTSTEP, there are more (...) (19 years ago, 28-Mar-05, to lugnet.cad)

Some comments on the LPub 2.2.0.9 beta - STEP followed by ROTSTEP —Andreas Maier
(...) Kevin, The reason I did it that way, was to show just the result of the rotation as an image, and to show the next added parts only in the next image. In the mean time, I usually don't include the image with the rotation result in my building (...) (19 years ago, 28-Mar-05, to lugnet.cad)

Re: Some comments on the LPub 2.2.0.9 beta —Kevin L. Clague
(...) Before we start, lets talk a bit about where I'm going with LPub. When I release the next LPub, it will also be going open source, as promised. LPub would be better suited to a larger develoment team. Through these conversations, you have (...) (19 years ago, 28-Mar-05, to lugnet.cad)

Re: Some comments on the LPub 2.2.0.9 beta —Don Heyse
(...) I haven't been able to keep up with this whole discussion, (sorry) but one thing struck me. Once upon a time we tried to put this sort of global config stuff in the generic ldraw.ini file instead an app specific file like mlcad.ini. Here's an (...)            Program INI files (was: RE: Some comments on the LPub 2.2.0.9 beta) —Orion Pobursky
(...) I like to add that LDDP, LDAO, and, to some extent, L3PAO use the ldraw.ini file to store program wide settings. I like this approach since it doesn't use the registry (which I abhor) and therefore makes the data easier to find and the program (...) (19 years ago, 28-Mar-05, to lugnet.cad)

Some comments on the LPub 2.2.0.9 beta —Andreas Maier
(...) Thanks for the invitation. I think it may end up to be a time problem, but I see what I can do. (...) I think this hits the nail: We need both to have a complete solution. (...) Thanks for clarifying the terminology. so I was intending to talk (...) (19 years ago, 28-Mar-05, to lugnet.cad)

Re: Some comments on the LPub 2.2.0.9 beta —Kevin L. Clague
(...) I am currently working on an MPD file that uses all the layout meta-commands, this was recommended by a wise (and probably frustrated) LPub user. I'm about 85% done fixing the bugs this process uncovers. There are so many other issues I have (...) (19 years ago, 28-Mar-05, to lugnet.cad)

Re: Some comments on the LPub 2.2.0.9 beta —Kevin L. Clague
(...) <snip> (...) In adding the code to stop pov-ray from popping up and down when LPub is not active, I found a case where the Cancel button does not make the popup dialog go away. If LPub completes processing all files while minimized, the dialog (...) (19 years ago, 1-Apr-05, to lugnet.cad)

Re: Some comments on the LPub 2.2.0.9 beta —Kevin L. Clague
(...) <snip> (...) I reread the MPD file format specification, and it says: "When an MPD file is used to store a multi-file model, the first file in the MPD is treated as the 'main model' -- all other files in the MPD will only be rendered if they (...) (19 years ago, 4-Apr-05, to lugnet.cad)
