| | | | | I see 33029.dat is named Scala Plate 2 x 4
http://www.ldraw.org/cgi-bin/ptdetail.cgi?f=parts/33029.dat
And 3011.dat is named Duplo Brick 2 x 4
It's no big issue, but isn't it strange that with Duplo, we count the studs of
that system, but with Scala, we translate the measures into standard Lego
studs... :)

You're right. Should be named as "Scala Plate 1 x 2".
But whats with all the othe Scala Parts? Has they named
with the translated measures?
Questions over questions..

Scala is kind of odd -- Scala 'flower studs' are double-sized, but parts
like the 'brick 1 x 1 x 2/3 round with tabs' have System studs. And
Scala flower-studs interlock with System-style anti-studs (the tubes on
the underside of parts). Scala flower-studs are the same height as
standard System studs. So there's a mix of regular and doubled scale.
In this case, I think it's better to use the standard scale, instead of
using the double-sized scale.

Ive been using System scale for the three Scala parts Ive done. I chose
System scale because the Scala parts do show up in many System sets (but Ive
never seen a Duplo piece in a System set, or vice-versa). I honestly didnt
know about Scala until I went to name them, since all my Scala pieces came from
System sets.
Examples:
Brick 1x1x2/3 Round
with Tabs is found in the Sopwith Camel
Scala Support
4x4x5&2/3 is found in the Life On Mars Red Planet Protector
Plate 1x1 Round with Tabs is found in
many Harry Potter sets, as well as Belville and Soccer/Futball

Random fact along these lines...
Theres one piece that I believe was originally in a Primo set that subsequently
showed up in many major themes. The large ball piece (approx 6 system studs
diameter?) has been in:
I think that printed versions of the part are available in a current Duplo set
as well.
