He’s still got the same coffee cup. Probably hasn’t been washed between those photos either.

But thanks for the memories. For true authenticity the first picture needs piles of eraser dust around the floor (twitch). Here’s one drafty that doesn’t miss those days at all.

Had to talk to actual human beings. It was horrible. HORRIBLE I say.

Yeah, I actually thought about dropping a minifig drill on the table to represent an electric eraser, but thought the general public wouldn’t get it. He also needs piles of templates scattered around (including the one that fell between the wall and the table and is impossible to get).

The coffee cup is the same too. I know for a fact that I’ve been drinking out of my same cup since at least 1998, possibly longer. I reminisce about the past and tell the new guys how much easier it is now. I miss it and enjoyed it, but would go back to the manual ways for any amount of money.

Those were very cute! The choice of colour schemes to represent then and now are perfect! They remind me of metal office furniture from that era!

Fantastic vigs! I like how the old table is still (somewhat) adjustible. Nice touch!

Your ‘Paper Jam’ vignette is also very nice! Good Job on all!

At least he’s got a window office! Is this you?

These are both great. I especially like the corner desk with clip-mounted keyboard and monitor.

Oh, and your photocopier further down the photostream is awesome.

Sort of. I have a window office, but share a cube with someone else. I intended to do my office in detail, but found I couldn’t do the level of detail that I wanted with the parts that I had (all new grays). I instead settled for the general feel of a CAD drafter in today’s modern cube farm.

The keyboard is the gimmick that makes the model. I found that a clip plate will mount to the bottom of a wing plate such that the clip sits in the stud notch perfectly. I should have taken a detail picture of that...

That design has been around for quite a while, although I can’t take credit for it. I had built it for an office building I was working on several years ago that never made it to completion. The copier somehow survived the recycling process and I finally just recently popped it into a vig.
