Oh yes, I meant to point that out. I intentionally cut the board size/complexity in half, for a couple of reasons (beyond the obvious one of 1x1 plates being a bit too big for minifig-scale checkers!).

First, it seems to me that objects in minifig world are often smaller and simpler than they would be at “true” minifig scale — a car typically holds only one person, for example, and his elbows bump both doors.

Second, for some reason I have the idea that minifigs aren’t too bright. Perhaps it’s their perpetually cheery, blank smiles? Whatever the reason, a game involving only 8 pieces on a 4x4 board seems more their intellectual level.

I like the idea of vignettes that also go somewhere else... almost as much as I like composite vignettes (...) (19 years ago, 20-May-05, to lugnet.build.vignette, lugnet.town, FTX)
