Out of curiosity, how are you defining a “minifigure”? There are a lot of
things that are “sort-of” minifigs:
Personally, I drew a hard-and-fast line by saying that in order to be a
minifig, it had to have a minifig torso (yes, thereby eliminating skeletons
and LOM aliens and so forth as minifigs).
Also, are you looking to take into consideration other promotional
minifigures?

Dear Dave,
For now I would like to keep it open. Meaning that I do not want to exclude any
minifigure. I believe that these exotic examples are also a rather small
proportion of all figures and hence it might not matter that much. Would you be
interested in collaborating in this project?

Hello,
We are working on an Minifigure identification software here at the Eindhoven
University of Technology. I have a keen interest in developing a taxonomy of
Lego Minifigures and within the framework of this project I am trying to take
photos of all figures ever produced by Lego. We would like to offer our services
to Minifigure collectors: We will visit you and take professional photographs of
your figures. You will receive a free copies of all photos. Of course we would
prefer collectors from Europe, since this would make the traveling much easier.
Alternatively, you cold also send us figures and we photograph them in our photo
studio.

Bob,
It was constructed with RTV Silicon Molds. Took a while to design the molds to
keep all the interior spaces and only have 2 part molds for each part, but that
was my goal. I really undertook the project to help teach myself a bit more
about mold making. If you want a detailed process I will be covering this topic
in a article for BrickJournal in the near future.

This is really cool! The trans fig can also be used for Tron figs, if
underlit...or if they were compatible with LEGO minifig parts, there could be a
Star Trek transporter effect done with a blinky light.

I actually built this figure. So I placed in the catagories where I thought
it belonged.

MOCs should not be placed in the “lugnet.announce” group, but just in the
“lugnet.announce.moc” group like you did. I’m afraid that I’m not seeing any
resemblance to Obi-wan, but that may just be because I don’t grok Star Wars Lego
much :^)
BTW, how was this made? What did you use for the molds? I’ve seen Lego bricks
used to make the walls of the mold when plastic modelers cast resin parts for
instance.
