Out of curiosity, how are you defining a “minifigure”? There are a lot of things
that are “sort-of” minifigs:
Personally, I drew a hard-and-fast line by saying that in order to be a minifig,
it had to have a minifig torso (yes, thereby eliminating skeletons and LOM
aliens and so forth as minifigs).
Also, are you looking to take into consideration other promotional minifigures?

We are working on an Minifigure identification software here at the Eindhoven
University of Technology. I have a keen interest in developing a taxonomy of
Lego Minifigures and within the framework of this project I am trying to take
photos of all figures ever produced by Lego. We would like to offer our services
to Minifigure collectors: We will visit you and take professional photographs of
your figures. You will receive a free copies of all photos. Of course we would
prefer collectors from Europe, since this would make the traveling much easier.
Alternatively, you cold also send us figures and we photograph them in our photo
studio.

Bob,
It was constructed with RTV Silicon Molds. Took a while to design the molds to
keep all the interior spaces and only have 2 part molds for each part, but that
was my goal. I really undertook the project to help teach myself a bit more
about mold making. If you want a detailed process I will be covering this topic
in a article for BrickJournal in the near future.
