Been quite a while since I’ve posted to lugnet and actually months since I’ve built anything. However I was recently inspired by the Crimson Skies aricraft I’ve seen popping up and finally got around to building my own.

While I don’t have background stories or anything very technical to say about these ships,
I can say that the first built was The Kestrel

Which, with its two wing mounted cannons, four machine guns grouped in the nose, and four rockets underneath strikes me as more of a ground attack fighter. The bent wings don’t show up well on the pictures, especially since they sag more than I’d like :(

The second ship - Coronado, seems more of a dogfighter or escort craft.

It features six rockets, two medium sized machine guns on the belly and two big honkin’ machine guns on the wings. It seems a tad long, and isn’t as prety as the Kestrel, but I imagine it gets the job done.

Thanks for reading / viewing / responding,
TRS

Pretty wicked birds you got there. I like how you took the swept back cockpit approach. Fradel (20 years ago, 24-Dec-03, to lugnet.build.military, FTX)

Your Kestrel puts me in the mind of a godawfully effective psuedo-fighter more than anything (Psuedo-fighter, a plane about the size of a small bomber, or overly large fighter, more heavily armed, normally somewhat faster and usually only slightly (...)
